Back to School Parent Information

*Student Work Space


-Table or desk to work at away from the tv or other
distractions.
-Headphones to help block out noise.
-A place to keep school supplies and Chromebook

*Learning Platforms (all of these are bookmarked for


student)
-Read Works-sign in with google
-Epic (book library)-Log in with class code- idx7678
-Prodigy (fun math practice)-sign in with google
-reflex math (for fact fluency)-log in with
Teacher username-corrinre
Student code-I will send through class dojo
-code.org-sign in with google
-istation-​Do not log on to this until I tell you!​ It will
test them the first time they log on.

*Class Dojo
-Use papers I sent in packet to sign up for both a
parent and student account.
-This will be used for parent communication and
student work.
*Google Meets Expectations
-Place-They need to be in an area without distractions
going on behind them. (we see everything behind the
student) I prefer they not be in a bedroom.
-Camera needs to be turned on, but microphone
should be muted unless instructed otherwise.
-Just like in the classroom, students should be paying
attention and be ready to answer questions.

*Daily Expectations
-Read for 15 minutes Daily
-Journals will be written in daily
-Attend google meets
-Complete work on day assigned

*First week will be a getting to know everyone and


exploring technology.
-Daily Morning Google Meet at 9:00 am (Wednesdays
at 11:00 am due to scheduled teacher meeting)
-Check Google Classroom for daily assignments
*Daily Schedule-This will be subject to change in the
future based on student needs.
9:00 am-Daily Morning Meeting Google Meet (code is
always corrington)
-I will take attendance and go over the days schedule
-Wednesdays time will be at 11:00 am
9:30-10:30-Watch ELA lesson video and work on
language assignments for that day.
10:30-Group A Google Meet with teacher
-Group A students-Alayna, Ava A., Bella, Daxtyn,
Emerson, Ethan, Hudson, Jaxon, Liliana, Nayeli, Noah,
Sawyer, and Terranie.
11:30-Group B Google Meet with teacher
-Group B students-Alice, Ava W., Destinee, Dominic,
Jenna, Gavin, Hunter, Kaden, Mila, Oakley, Uriel, Sofia,
and Zayden.
11:30-12:15-Watch pre-recorded math lesson and start
math assignment.
12:30-Group A Google Meet with teacher
1:00-Group B Google Meet with teacher
2:00-Whole group google meet for science/social studies
(This will not be daily)
This schedule is a work in progress as I get to know
my students and their needs. This is a new way to
teach for me so please be flexible as I adjust and find
what works best.
*We are a learning team and all must do their part.
-​Learner-needs to complete work, attend google
meets, and do their best!
-Parents-need to monitor that work is being
completed and help as needed with assignments. Please
communicate with me any struggles you may be having.
Give your learner hints and guidance but do not do their
work for them.
-Teacher-delivers quality instruction and makes sure
each learners needs are met.

*Growth Mindset means that we have a positive


attitude and recognize that struggling is ok because
our brain is growing! ​(Your attitude about math or
reading makes a difference so always be positive.)

I am very excited about the learning we will be doing


throughout the year. Please be aware that in math, I teach
many different strategies to arrive at the same answer.
This is done to help learners have a deeper understanding
in math and create flexible thinking in mathematics.
Please do not teach them the short cut or algorithm to
solve addition problems until I introduce it.

Thank you for all your help! As we get into a routine,


things will get smoother and easier to follow​.
