Film Analysis

INSTRUCTIONS

Pick a movie that portrays concepts and principles in Psychology. Please ONLY select the
psychological concepts and principles that we covered in class. Watch the movie and then write an
analysis about it. Please see following guidelines:

1. Write a very brief summary of the movie. Give some clear evidence that you watched it.
2. Write a description of how psychological concept/s was/were portrayed. Describe the
psychological principle(s) illustrated in the film.
3. Describe the relevant scenes which illustrate the psychological concept or principle. Put a
screenshot of the scene.

4. Write a critical analysis of how accurate or inaccurate you found the portrayal of the psychological
concept. Elaborate on how the selected scene conforms and/or fails to conform to the
psychological principle you have identified. Show evidence of your knowledge of the concept (i.e.
include information from class).
5. Your discussion will conclude with a brief, critical assessment of the strengths and weakness of
the movie’s portrayal of the particular concept covered .

Guidelines:
• Your total paper should be at least 1000 words in length, typed, and single-spaced. Use 12
font size and Tahoma as font style.
• Submit the printed paper on:
• For graduating students – Tuesday, October 8
• For non-graduating students – Tuesday, October 22
• Late papers will NOT be accepted.
• Plagiarism is a big no-no in our class. Plagiarized papers will automatically get a 0 in class.
