1. Why did Noli me Tangere have such a big impression on the narrator? Could you relate to the narrator's
experience of reading? Why or Why not?
We all know that the novel of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, made a big contribution and changed
the beliefs of Filipinos to fight for their rights and freedom. The author has a big respect to Dr. Jose Rizal for his
talent that he has and used to write one of the powerful novels, Noli me Tangere (Touch me Not). And also, the
novel makes a significant effect to change the beliefs and perspective in life. Yes, I felt the same way that the
composed of many papers, one piece of book changed the whole nation and the reason why Philippines and
Filipinos have freedom and rights in today's generation. Furthermore, truly that Dr. Jose Rizal is our National
hero.
3.What does the line, "The art is a reproach to those who receive it" mean?
This line wants to convey that the art doesn't have a proper appreciation by the receiver. In my opinion
the beauty of art depends on the interpretation and appreciation by another person given on that particular art.
We should not reproach the art of others, because we don't have idea on know he/she puts all of the hard work,
feelings and dedication to make the art beautiful.
4.Write a short essay titled Readers and Society today by answering the following question:
•Is reading still an important activity today? Why or Why not?
•Is the experience of reading literature more important that googling the information on the internet? Why or
Why not?

Learnings is unending process. Every day we learn from our experiences. One of the things we should
do is to read. Reading will be definitely one of the important activity until today. But what makes reading so
important to us?
According to Wikipedia.com, Reading is the complex cognitive process of decoding symbols to derive
meaning. It is a form of language processing. This kind of activity really benefits our health and skills. Some of
the importance of reading literature, it helps our brain to function, when we read it test are reading skills and
keeps our brain active. We can learn to focus and concentrate, you can immerse yourself on the story lines and
details. Also, to have vocabulary expansions, the more you engage yourself to read, the more you will encounter
different words and makes you familiarize in words. It can also help to learn different languages. Helps to avoid
stress is one of the best reasons why reading is importance, it really helps to forget problems and make your
new imagination world where you could not feel any stress and fear. Those are some of the importance why
reading is important to us.
The experience of reading literature is more important than googling. Some of the information on
internet are not reliable enough to be the sources. It doesn’t help the brain to function, Copy and then paste they
already have the answer. In this they tend not to understand the topic and makes themselves to be lazy. Reading
literatures will enhance our thinking than browsing on internet.
Reading is part of our daily lives, even where you go you need to read some directions, rules, messages
and etc. Reading is truly important to everyone. “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man
who never reads lives only one.” – George R.R. Martin.
