The quality auditors initiate the Total Quality Management system by initiating the

metallurgical tests for inspection of raw material; they track all the progress till the time of
delivery of consignment.

Our Quality Control Procedure includes the following process:

1. QUALITY CONTROL MANUAL

• Receipt of job with Delivery Challan from the Client Checking the job received with
Delivery Challan.
• Description for Quantity, Dimension and Nature of work.
• Checking the job for suitability for Rubber Lining regarding weld Grinding finish free
from pitting and other physical imperfection.

2. SURFACE PREPARATION

• Rust, Scale & foreign particles' removal is done by cleaning by solvent and the cleaned
surface is blasted to SA 2 VS Grade
• After blasting, the surface is inspected and cleared for next process.

3. BONDING AGENT COATING

• Evaporating the solvent and applying Adhesive coating on blasted surface

immediately after the surface preparation.

4. PREPARATION OF RUBBER COMPOUND

• Choosing the rubber compound as per Clients' specification and operational condition.
• A master Rubber compound batch is prepared and the following tests are conducted to
check Tensile Strength minimum value (125 kg / cm), Elongation at break 400%
minimum, Shore Hardness 65 ± 5 on 'A' Scale and Bleeding tests to find out diffusion
of ingredients from a Rubber compound to the contents of a fluid.
• The lab test results are checked and recorded
• The compound is cleared for bulk production.

5. BLEEDING TEST

• The rubber composition prepared to state that it will satisfy the chemical and physical
condition specified as regards with contents of the vessel.
• The above referred test is conducted to determine the values of the rubber compound
on samples prepared for the job.
• This is done by soaking in the fluids like HCL, NAOH & HO to the specific time
agreed between the parties.
• The results are recorded in the test sheets and furnished with duration of time,
Temperature maintained in Centigrade and the weight during the time of final
Inspection.

6. PREPARATION OF UNVULCANIZED EXTRUDED RUBBER SHEET

• The unvulcanized Extruded Rubber Sheet is per-shrunken where necessary is hand

tailored to fit the surface to be lined.
• The Sheet is visually inspected for any defect such as, imperfection, blisters, and
thickness and cleared for further process.
• The unvulcanized EXTRUDED rubber sheet is wiped with rubber solvent to fit the
surface to be lined.
• The side of a Sheet which will be in contact with Adhesive coating is wiped with the
Rubber solvent to clean its surface and to increase its lack.
• As soon as the solvent has evaporated and while the sheet still retains the surface tack
the sheet is applied to the metal surface.
• The Rubber Sheet is positioned accurately.
• The Rubber lining of Pipes is done by mechanized Bunking System which takes care of
100% efficient ceiling between the Rubber and Metal throughout the length of the pipe.
• No lack of addition hollow spaces, Uniform thickness and other imperfection are
checked.

7. PREPARATION OF JOINTS

• Joints between rubber pipe lining and the rubber on flange faces should not extrude
either to restrict the bore of the Pipe are to prevent the efficient ceiling between the
flange faces of adjacent length.
• The unvulcanized job is inspected visually before vulcanization for any imperfection,
blisters, thickness lack of adhesion, high frequency Spark Test (equipment duly
calibrated).
• Test is conducted as per IS: 4682 (Part 1) @ 5 KVA per mm thick to check the continuity
of Lining and then cleared for further process.

8. VULCANIZATION

• The rubber-lined jobs are vulcanized in the auto clave by steaming process to produce
the required physical and chemical properties of the rubber compound.
• The timing of the curing is determined as per normal practice and curing chart is
prepared as per the design of the Rubber compound and recorded.

9. INSPECTION

• After vulcanization visual inspection is conducted on the entire surface which should
be free from cracks, traces of bubbles lack of adhesion, hollow spaces, thickness,
blisters and any other imperfection.
• Hardness test is carried out in accordance with IS 3400 (Part n) with the equipment
duly calibrated.
• The Hardness test should be carried out on a flat smooth surface. In a vessel where
hardness test reading cannot be taken on the surface of the rubber lining, buttons are
provided in position as per normal standard practice.
• The normal Shore hardness maintained is 65 + 5 degree 'A' Scale.
• High frequency spark test (equipment is duly calibrated) is conducted on the surface of
the lining which is clean and dry @ 5 KVA / mm thick when the test is carried out
Excessive voltage or long resistant time on the rubber lining may puncture the rubber
lining surface.
• Hence, care should, therefore be taken to select the correct voltage and to ensure that
the probe does not remain in one position for too long.
• Adhesion Test: Wherever requested by the User to check for adhesion of the lining to
the metal is carried out on samples prepared, using the same combination of solution,
Rubber compound and condition of vulcanized as per IS 3400 (Part V) in accordance
with method B specified.

10. REPAIRS

• Repairs to the Rubber lining are generally done by skilled labor. Hie method employed
depends upon the type of original lining, and the extent of repair and facilities
available.
• All loose and defective rubber is cut away, the exposed edges of the lining dwelled and
the shell portion of the job is cleaned by buffing method.
• The area exposed (Metal) is clean with the suitable solvent and any excess is allowed to
evaporate.
• Then the adhesive solution are applied The patch of the new sheet to cut into shape
and made tacky by application of solution and is applied to the prepared area and
rolled down firmly with edge wheel to exclude any air entrapment The patch is then
vulcanized in accordance with the nature of compound as per normal standard
practice.
• The repaired area is checked for hardness achieved and continuity of lining on the
patch up area in accordance as per normal standard practice and the same is recorded
in the Inspection report.

11. FINAL INSPECTION

• The customers Quality Control persons are called for inspection and the internal test
report / test certificate obtained from outside agencies are shown for verification and
records.
• The completed jobs are offered for inspection and testing for the Officials.
• On completion of inspection and acceptance of the job and the same is cleared for
dispatch.

12. DISPATCH
• The delivery challan and invoice are prepared as per the instructions of the Client's
Purchase Order.
• The materials are dispatched in accordance with.
