ACTIVITY 1: Instruction: Read the excerpt below and answer the following questions. 20 points, 5 points each.

Scenario:
Teacher: John, what do you like to become when you grow up?
Student: Ma’am, I want to become happy.
Teacher: You did not understand my question
Student: Ma’am, you do not know what life is all about.

1. Did John answer his teacher correctly? Explain (3-5 sentences only).

John answered his teacher correctly , because John answered it in a profound way. Referring to his own
happiness as what he wants to become when he grows up. Despite the teachers question most student would
answer what job profession they would want to take but John’s answer is different .

2. If you were the teacher, how would you respond to John? Explain (3-5 sentences only).

If I were the teacher , I would tell to John that he is correct but I will clarify and repeat my question by asking
him if what’s he’s dreaming to become someday. Explaining to him that happiness is the key to success and
finding his own career to become successful someday. I would tell ask him if he wants to be a firefighter ,
policemen , or even a soldier .

Philosophy is related to the conversation on how John answered his teacher’s question. John has an own
perspective of what to become when he grows up. Understanding John’s answer her teacher was actually asking if
what will he take when he’ll grow up

Based on the concept, philosophy is all about one’s belief and own perspective in his point of view. We don’t have the
same knowledge to understand one concept . Meaning we have different perspective and beliefs to understand a
topic.
