CONTENT STANDARD:
The learner demonstrates understanding of: South and West Asian literature as an expression
of philosophical and religious beliefs; information flow in various text types; reality, fantasy,
and opinion in listening and viewing materials; word decoding strategies; and use of
information sources, active/passive constructions, direct/reported speech, perfect tenses, and
logical connectors in journalistic writing.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
. The learner transfers learning by composing a variety of journalistic texts, the contents of
which may be used in composing and delivering a memorized oral speech featuring use of
properly acknowledged information sources, grammatical signals for opinion-making,
persuasion, and emphasis, and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.

Preliminary Activity:
 Prayer

EXPLORE:
Activity 1: “SAY WHAT YOU SEE”
 The teacher will present a video clip for the students to analyze.
 The teacher will ask questions regarding the video clip and let her students
share their understandings about the video clip being viewed.
 She will process the students answer.
 In a read-a-loud strategy the teacher will introduce the objectives for today’s
lesson as well as the guided questions

FIRM –UP:
Activity2: “CURRENTLY READING”.
 Through power point presentation the teacher will let the students read the
vocabulary words found in the story “The Food of Paradise!” as well as the
short biography of Ibm Amjed the author of the story.
 Then, the teacher will present and discuss the summary of the story “The
Food of Paradise” by Ibm Amjed in a read-a-loud and picture analysis
strategies.

Activity 3: “PASS THE BALL”


 The teacher will play a music and she will let her students pass the ball to their
classmates.
 She will stop the music and whoever student holding the ball will be the one to
answer the question.
 In the same manner the teacher will repeat the said activity until all the guided
questions will be answered
 The teacher will process/follow up the students answer.

DEEPEN:
The teacher will ask question regarding students’ perception of the following

Activity 3: “TEAM GOT TALENT!
 The teacher will group the students into five groups.
 Each group will select a representative to pick an envelope for their assign
group number.
 The teacher will present the rubrics for the learners to know the criteria of
judging their performances.
 In their respective groups, the students will be given five (5) minutes for
creating/ composing their tasks and two (2) minutes for performing their task
through slogan, poem, mnemonics, acrostic and making symbol.
 The student’s performance will be rated based on the rubrics given below.
