providing me a golden opportunity of project work in Production
management, Inventory management & Materials management.
Successful completion of any project requires help and guidance from
numbers of persons. In this reference I am highly indebted to Mr.
Manish Kumar Singh (AGM, Materials Management) and Mr. Anjali
Kumar Pandey (Deputy Manager, Materials Management) for being my
mentor and guide respectively during project work at TMTL, Alwar.
Also huge thanks to Mr. Lalit Varshney and Mr. Nageshwar Lakhawat
for their kind support and motivation.
I convey my sincere gratitude to my academic guide Mr. Ashutosh
Kumar, faculty MBA program at Rajasthan Technical University Kota.
Without his kind direction and proper guidance, it would have been a
little success. In every phase of the project his guidance and supervision
shaped this report perfectly.
 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project report emphasis on the analysis of effective utilization of
management tools in production, inventory and Supply Chain
Management with reference of TMTL, Alwar. This project report has
been prepared to know practical implementation of management tools &
principles, control techniques, quality improvement techniques and
customer satisfaction.

The research data will bring the actual trends, practices and effective
utilization of PULL system, MRP, Scheduling, Sequencing, JIT,
KANBAN, 5s, Network analysis, Six sigma, Kaizen, Total quality
management etc. in production management, inventory management and
supply chain management. The research outcomes have given new ideas
for process, product and structure improvement to maximize the
profitability, quality, employee satisfaction and customer loyalty
towards the organization.

It also aims to identify marketplace opportunity and threats in external

environment and internal environment to decide how to use their
resources, capabilities, and competencies.
