1. Activity 1:
 Stick the flashcards on the board. Point to each one, say the word and encourage pupils to
repeat.
 Guessing Game: Draw – badly – an animal on the board. Pupils have to guess what it is.
 Vocabulary: Draw pupils’ attention to the vocabulary section. (SB pg 66).
 Play the CD and have pupils point and repeat. (track 5)
 Say the words again in random order and have pupils repeat and point.
 Have pupils work in pairs to ‘test’ each other on the new words.
II. LESSON
2. Activity 2:
DEVELOPMENT
 Pupils look at the story and elicit what they can see. (SB pg 66 Activity 1)
 Ask pupils to point to the bubbles and follow along as you play the CD. (track 6)
 Ask questions as pupils hear and read the story.
 Model acting out the dialogue with two pupils.
 Then, have pupils act out the dialogue in groups of three.
 Check their pronunciation and note words that pupils have problems with so that you can
drill them before pupils practise for performing.
 In turns, have pupils perform for the whole class.
1. Post lesson task 5: Choose a key sentence or sentences you want pupils to focus on. Say the
sentence twice and ask pupils to repeat it.
2. Extend the activity by writing a sentence on the board. Rub out a word and replace it with a line.
III. POST LESSON
Ask the pupils to say the complete sentence: they have to remember the missing word too.
Continue rubbing out words until there are only lines on the board and invite pupils to say the
full sentence.
