You've been using computers for years. You save money on
phone calls by using Skype, connected with long-lost friends on
Facebook, perhaps you've even managed to make some extra
cash peddling your old junk on eBay. You may possess these
skills and many more, but does this mean you're digitally
literate?

To have basic survival skills in today's digital world means more

than just knowing how to use digital tools. To thrive online you

Tech Tips & Tools

 Babble.ly is an ingenious service that turns your phone

number into a safe, disposable Web link. Have you ever
wanted to give someone your phone number without
actually giving them your number? For example, suppose
you're listing an item on eBay or Craigslist, no need to
change your phone number if you end up selling
something to a psychopath.

 MindMeister online mind mapping and brainstorming

tool. Would you like to use mind mapping software but
don't have an extra $400 laying around for MindJet?
Here's an alternative, there's a free version which you
may outgrow quickly, but the paid versions are
reasonably priced.

 How to Use PowerPoint to Create Graphics for your Site

This is an interesting video sent to me this week on how
to create nice-looking graphics in, of all things, Microsoft
PowerPoint. Great tip for people who don't want to learn
Photoshop.
