Introduction:-
Tea is an intrinsic part of our life and culture. It is the drink that has been enjoyed by
generations as the perfect drink to relax with. Tea is refreshing, healthy and forms the perfect
companion to books. Stylish and relaxing, this is a place to unwind with like-minded people or
by you. You can reflect on things over a hot cup of tea and discover more about yourself in the
company of books. Like a modern day literary cafe, it is the perfect space to exchange ideas and
views. So we are coming up with CHA EXPRESS, which will provide people with the taste
which they usually get at home.

“To become a well known Brand of Tea Café all over the India”

“To provide hygienic and tasteful our cup of joy to all according to the need”

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project focuses on all age group people. It aims to provide enriched taste and aroma of tea,
which would be special in it and it, will not be made through any machines, so humanely touch
to every service provided.

The types of tea which will be offered is Simple tea, Special tea , Sugar free tea , Black tea,
Lemon tea , Irani tea etc. The breakeven point will be achieved in eight months.

The project aims to shortly open up a chain café at all over stations in Mumbai. The uniqueness
of the cafe will be its variety which will be made available in cheap cost to suit the pocket of the
people.

price which anyone can afford. Proper care has been taken regarding taste and price.

Cafe will be at various stations and with variety of tastes and aroma which
have potential to touch the soul of the people.

of tea at our cafe.

Our café is suited to all from teenagers to senior citizens. All can come and enjoy
the tea of our cafe.

Legal Formalities:-

There are mainly two licensees required for opening a tea outlet…

1) Shop and Establishment License:

• The shop and establishment License is necessary for opening any business.

• For obtaining this License one should apply with FORM “A” of The Bombay Shops and
Establishment Act, 1948.

• The fee for this license is Rs.400 p.a.

• Every year we have to renew this license. For renewal of this license we need to fill
FORM “B”.

• This license can be transferred. For Transfer of license from one location to another we
have to fill FORM “E”. Fee for transferring license is Rs.100.

2) Health License:

• Health License is provided by Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) under sec 394 of
MMC. It is provided for the period of one year and every year it should be renewed. This
license is given only if there is a fixed wall structured shop.

• The steps for obtaining the health license are

I. Take form from the BMC office

II. With the filled form we have to attach following documents

o Ownership Document

o Leave and License

o NOC by Owner ( If shop is on rent)

o Shop and Establishment certificate from BMC

III. The Inspection is done by Medical Officer of BMC Health department

IV. If all conditions are satisfied then Health License is provided

• As mentioned in Health license, shop should maintain

o Cleanliness

o Healthiness

o Proper Drainage

o Proper Ventilation

(Note: License can be refused if any of these is not fulfilled)

• As per the rules the fees for 100 sq.ft. shop is as follows:

o Yearly fee: Rs.980

o Scrutiny charges: Rs.200

o Yearly Waste Disposal charge: Rs.1960

o Security Charges: Rs.245

Layout and Space:

• We are going to open our first cafe near Andheri (W) station.

• It will be of 100 sq. ft. Café

• It consist of kitchen and a cash counter

• We will provide our customers space for standing and small tables for keeping glass of
tea at corners.

• Costs of space is-

Rent: - Rs. 40,000

Deposit: Rs. 15, 00,000

Equipment needed:
• Gas and cylinder

• Glass crockery

• Hot servery

• Fridge

Target market:-

All people who are trespassers by railway station of all age groups and all classes

Locality:-

Near railway station, Andheri (w) and it will be on rent.

So, the

Net Profit = Rs.40, 000

IV. Break Even Analysis (BEP):-

Our Expenditure is Rs. 3, 09,000 and Approximate Profit p.m. is Rs.


40,000. Hence BEP will be achieved in nearby 8 months.
