inside the zone that “folks in Seattle have secured six block of city … barricaded it, and gotten local
businesses and residents to agree to, well, disaffiliate from Seattle basically. It’s a flux state in the making.”
The degree to which locals might “agree” with the activists’ actions remains up for debate, with many
online suggesting that they’ve been intimidated into compliance in the absence of actual law
enforcement. Journalists attempting to cover what is going on inside the zone have been chased
away (Daily Telegraph).
