Business Administration Pathway


Food Truck Project
Project Description:

Students will work in teams to address business opportunities and challenges for a local food truck
operator. The students will design marketing materials and business documents needed for this
business.

Project Hours: 20; Students will work in groups of 3 to 4 members to complete each step of the
project.

Project Details:

1. Students will collaborate to establish the name of their food truck, color scheme, logo, and
operating parameters.

2. Students will create the marketing materials (letterhead, flyers, coupons, business card, posters,
gift certificates, and T-shirts), and menu. The only items where the use of a template is allowed
are the menu and brochure.

3. Students will use Excel to create a proposed budget for their food truck start-up

4. Students will create a two-dimensional representation of their truck.

5. Students will use PowerPoint to create and present final package to the class and discuss
reasoning behind choices they have made. Presentation grade will be separate individual
summative.

Standards Met:
BMA-BT-2 Create, edit, and publish industry appropriate documents using technology as a tool to increase
productivity.
2.4 Produce a document that began with pre-planning process until final produce.
2.5 Apply basic design principles to documents to produce professional quality products.

BMA-BT-8 Develop personal leadership skills to work on teams, teach others, serve customers, lead, negotiate,
and work effectively and efficiently in a business environment.
8.3 Select organizational skills necessary to be a successful leader, citizen, and practice those skills in real-life
situations.
8.5 Determine necessary attributes to lead and motivate individuals, teams, and organizations.
