The Role of Education in Social Transformation Concepts, Issues and Prospects

Education transforms both societies and people in a particular direction by

shaping and reshaping their patterns of thoughts, means of problem solving and ways

of life. This will then contribute to further individual and social transformation. This

article contains how the formal education ensures that learning deemed desirable and

useful to both the individual and society.This article finds that the process of

education enables significant changes in students by contributing to the social skills

that transform their identity and ultimately their society. This article show the

transformation of education, the issues and policy implications affect in school

system, it consist how the non formal education develop their certain talents and

abilities more effectively and economically than the formal school system. The other

article which is Education and Development “A Cultural Perspective” contains the

comparison between the village and the barrio, rich and poor, low IQ and high IQ

how does the education affects on their lives.

The author trying to prove that transformation as the role of education in

changing individual lives.On the other hand if the culture of a society is materialistic,

then its educational pattern will be shaped for the attainment of material values which

promotes pleasures. Also the new literacy must be applied in our new curriculum than

the traditional way. Where students' active engagement in developing knowledge and

skills, critical thinking, higher-order skills, and communication are facilitated by the

instructor. It is difficult to accomplish transformational teaching without

understanding. The article is all about education is also perceived to be one of the
instruments of social change in all the developing countries.As society became more

enlightened it realized that it was responsible not to transmit and conserve the whole

of its existing achievements but to strive for a better future society.

This article was full of learning about the education before, what we have for

today because of the influence of other country then become largely because of the

new literacy applied in education. Therefore, transformation of society towards

desirable objectives of freedom to enjoy life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for all. I

think this article inform each and everyone that education is more important in our

lives. The Philippine formal educational system appears to be one of the most expand

in the world. I have since developed a deeper understanding about this article, this

provides a critical foundation for lifelong progress, and the adults who provide for the

care and the education of young children bear a great responsibility for their health,

development, and learning.
