COURSE ASSESSMENT: Online Discussion Forum (20%)

Instructions

1. You are required to respond to two forum topics.


2. Each topic is 10% of your overall grade for a total of 20% for the two topics.
3. The aim is to achieve the following:
· Demonstrate that you comprehend key scientific concepts presented in the lectures, manual and suggested course material.
· Show that you can apply the concepts to think critically of about the topics in relation to their science and any social impacts.
4. Go to the link for your particular tutorial session and submit your response.
5. For each forum topic, you are required to submit your initial response of approximately 250 words before you are able to view the responses of your colleagues.
6. After your initial response is posted, you are then required to discuss the responses of two other students.
7. Limit your responses to approximately 100 words for each response to another student.
8. Each forum topic has accompanying questions but these should be treated merely as guides to your thinking.
9. Remember, the topics are for a DISCUSSION and should not be treated as short answer questions.
10. Your insights may slightly touch on, include at length, or completely go beyond the guiding questions.
11. We want to hear you using science to assess, analyse and think before coming to your own conclusion.
