Work Visa

Please submit the following documents with your application:

☐ 2 duly completed visa application forms (please ensure that you sign the forms)

☐ 2 signed declarations concerning the consequences of incorrect and / or incomplete

information during the visa application process

☐ 2 recent passport photograph according to biometric specifications

☐ passport with a validity of at least 6 months longer than the intended entry date, at least 2
free pages and not older than 10 years

☐ travel insurance with 2 copies at least for the first few weeks of the planned stay in Germany
(provided that an health insurance in Germany is obtained afterwards). Travel insurance
can also be submitted only to the issue of a visa.

☐ employment contract or binding job offer with two copies including the following information:
 employer (name and address of the actual place of work)
 employment type: full time or part time / training
 gross wage in EUR per month
 period of employment (temporary / permanent)
 job title or job description

☐ 2 duly completed forms “Stellenbeschreibung” (filled out by your employer)

☐ curriculum vitae of professional career, specifying the certificates, diplomas, etc. you have
obtained with one copy

☐ proof of your qualification:

 University degree with 2 copies. Before obtaining a visa to work your foreign degree
must be recognized or be comparable to a German degree. You can check this in the
database: http://anabin.kmk.org/ (if applicable)
 proof of acquired education accounts with 2 copies (if applicable)
 proof of relevant professional experience with 2 copies (if applicable)

☐ if applicable: proof of your proficiency in the German language

 Additional information

In order to apply for a visa you need an appointment! Please check our website to book an
appointment.

All documents in Serbian or Montenegrin language shall be submitted with certified German
translation.

An average processing time of 2 weeks is required due to the involvement of the relevant
immigration authorities in Germany. If you have lived in Germany in the past the average
processing time is at least three months! Please refrain from progress inquiries.

The full presentation of the above documents does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. Copies of
documents are not provided and cannot be made by employees of the visa section. The visa
section reserves the right to request additional documents in individual cases.

Once you have been notified by us that your application was approved, your passport can be
picked up at the normal working hours of the visa section. Please note the information on the visa
requirements on our website.

Incorrect and / or incomplete information and / or forged or falsified documents usually result in
rejecting the application.
