SETTING OUT
1. Upon completion of earthwork to the required level Land Surveyor shall established the
control points and TBM at the nearest location. Control points and TBM shall be
protected and firmly planted.
2. Piling points shall be pegged as per construction drawing.
3. Piling points setting out shall be checked the correctness by joint inspection with
Consultants prior commencement of piling works. Nevertheless the Contractor is
responsible for the accuracy of setting out.
PILE
1 When receiving the materials, R.C. pile shall be checked for the quality and any
deviation.
2 Maximum allowable deviated of pile size are +- 6 mm.
3 Allowable deviated ( bowing or straightness ) of pile via horizontal from end to end are
+-6 mm.
4 Any crack shall be checked. Cracked pile cannot be used.
5 Only matured pile can be used for driving. Only piles are casted more than 21 days are
recommended for driving.

DRIVING
1. Piles shall be pitched accurately in their positions and on the appropriate lines.
2. Adjustments shall be made to get the hydraulic piling frame in vertical as possible.
3. The verticality of pile shall be checked by spirit level and plumb bob at two direction.
4. Hydraulic hammer than start driving the initial pile. At the earlier stage check the
verticality of pile consistently. Driving of R.C. piles shall be continuous without
interruption.
5. Pile head shall be protected by helmet.
6. Plywood pack shall be packed in helmet as cushion.
7. Extension pile shall be joint by welding. Mild steel plate at the head of initial pile shall
be welded with mild steel plate at tow of extension pile.
8. Welder should have their competency certificate.
9. Welded plate shall be painted with anti rush paint.
10. The pile shall be waited to cool before subsequent driving can proceed.
11. Pile shall be driven to the specified depth as per required in the contract.
12. Deflected pile cannot be force back to the correct alignment. It will be damaged the pile.
3
13. A driving record shall be recorded with the particulars of date driven, pile position, pile
series number, no of blows and penetration depth.
14. A complete set of pile driving record shall be submitted to Consultant for verification.
1 Piles installation sequence shall be group by foundation slab panel. There are 27 numbers
of foundation slab panel and 1 number of service corridor slab.
Road A - 3 panels of foundation slab
Road B - 23 panels of foundation slab
Part Of Round About - 1 panel of foundation slab
Service Corridor Slab

3 Each panel of foundation slab has a total numbers of piling points. The number of piling
points was clearly stated in the proposed piling layout started from number
1,2,3……………..
example : 1A1,1A2,1A3……….
Please refer to layout plan that clearly indicate piles reference point
PILING PROGRAMME
