Land rigs

Drillmec provides land drilling rig packages, which have been operating
successfully in all the major oil producing areas in the world. Taking
advantage from the experience earned with a presence on the market
from 1922, Drillmec has a wide range of configurations and different
solutions, according to customer’s needs. Drillmec Land rigs are available
in these different mast configurations:
• RAPID SERIES
• SWING LIFT (DM SERIES)
• DUAL TRAILER (DTR SERIES)
The best design has been constantly evolved by our R&D deptartment
by improving the structure with the introduction of alloy steel aimed to
enlighten the structure, reduce the loads, and speed rig-up and down
operations. In addiction it has been emphasized workability and
environmental protection. The complete series of the Land rigs ranges
from 1000 to 3000 HP .

Mobile rigs

Drillmec MR series rigs are for drilling and workover operations. The
whole range can be mounted on trailer or carrier. The drawworks, carrier
and mast capacities are matched to provide optimal performance with
keen attention paid to reliability and running costs. The MR rigs are fully
mechanically driven, the telescopic mast and the substructure are designed
to ensure easy management during rig-up and rig-down operations.
These characteristics make this kind of drilling rigs efficient and
transportable units.
Our extensive experience with the fabrication of hydraulic top drives
enables Drillmec to supply drilling units with all the advantages of
hydraulic top drive outfitting.
The complete series of the MR rigs ranges from 500 to 1000 HP.

Hydraulic drilling rigs

The drilling industry is actively involved in screening new technologies

to solve common problems, such as increasing safety in drilling operations
and minimizing environmental impact. Together with these considerations
relating to nature and human resources, the industry must also continue
to improve drilling performance. The history of the HH rigs saw its
evolution from a simple hydraulic rig for water wells upgraded to oil
well standards in 1990. Later on, a new project developed the basic
concept of this technology and a new drilling rig series began to operate
in various oil fields around the world. Today more than hundred of these
rigs are successfully operating worldwide.The complete series of the HH
rigs ranges from 100 to 350 ton hook load capacity. Fast moving features
provide an efficient tool to the drilling contractor enabling him to drill
quickly and safely. The flexibility of this design means high rate of
utilization since 90 % of onshore wells are within the range of capability
of the HH series.
Hydraulic top drives

Drillmec manufactures hydraulic top drives (HTD series) designed to

meet the requirements of highly developed drilling systems. In
compliance with Drillmec’s objectives, we focus on fabricating products
to an advanced technical specification and offering the most suitable
support to our clients.
HTD top drives are hydraulically operated, in order to guarantee
advanced performance and reduced dimensions, which make Drillmec
top drives suitable to be fitted to almost any rig in order to increase
the performance and help in operations such as directional or
horizontal drilling. Their extraordinary performance, obtained through
the know-how we have gained in more than 20 years of job-site
experience, allows drilling time to be reduced and equipment
productivity to be increased.
Thanks to high quality components and numerous control and testing
procedures, Drillmec has been able to continuously reduce maintenance
time and cost.

Casing make up device

Drillmec hydraulic Top drive can be equipped with casing handle

equipment. This device connect properly the threaded elements of
the drill stem and provide the adequate clamping torque on the
threads. For this purpose this exclusive device is made to screw and
unscrew elements having threaded couplings and belonging to a
drill stem or to tubes for the inner casing of a drift hole. This device
is suitable to be used in any drilling rigs comprising a rotating head.
The device is manufactured with a special sealing section that seals around the
coupling and allows the circulation immediately trough the top drive. This
advantage allows the driller to avoid casing stack and moreover to rotate the
casing in case of need, utilizing the top drive.

Torque wrench

Hydraulic torque wrench is to be used during tripping operation to

fast make-up and break-out operations. The hydraulic wrench is
mounted underneath the HTD and is equipped with a rotating
hydraulic top clamp, a lower hydraulic clamp and a suspension double
hydraulic jack.
Skidding system

Drillmec manufactures a skidding system to transport the mast,

substructure and setback along an in-line well pattern, while the rig
is in vertical drilling position.
The Skidding system consists on four 200 ton hydraulic lifting jacks,
eight 20 ton rig push/pull skidding jacks, four 200 ton hardened
roller assemblies for straight-line motion and with vertical guides,
four roller bases to support the rig on the location foundation and
support for the rollers, one set of substructures modification and
support material to add to the substructure bottom boxes.
The system comes complete with a control console, which includes
independent control valves for jacking and independent control valves
for skidding. Valves are included to control BOP handling equipment.
The control console has quick disconnects and hoses aimed to connect
the hydraulic power unit to the rig. The versatility of this control
console promotes greater effectiveness of the operator, which enhances
the productivity of the rig. An electric power unit for rig skidding and
BOP handling is also included. A skid mounted power unit with
reservoir, pump and hose bracket completes this assembly.

Manifold

Drillmec gained considerable experience in the design and manufacture

of manifold systems.
The manifold fittings, flanges, hubs, hammer unions, API blocks with
our welding capabilities let Drillmec S.p.A. able to control the design,
the quality and the scheduling of the manifolds that complete our
rigs, mud pumps and mud systems.
Drillmec manifold production ranges from 5.000 to 10.000 P.S.I.

Rotary tables

Drillmec manufactures the Rotary Tables "R Type" Line. Drillmec's

Rotary Tables "R Type" are designed to be interchangeable with the
most popular rotary table brands. Drillmec's "R Type" rotary tables
are fully conform to API standard and are designed for drilling depths
up to 30,000 ft.
