IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT

FOR THE DISTRICT OF PUERTO RICO

NOTICE TO COUNSEL

SAVE THE DATE: VIRTUAL CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION SEMINAR

AND U.S. SENTENCING COMMISSION ANNUAL TRAINING SESSIONS.

The United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico (“USDCPR”)
announces its first Virtual Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) seminar, to be held on
December 2 and 3, 2020. This Virtual CLE will allow the USDCPR to offer a wide variety
of subject matters and speakers, increased capacity for bar member registration and
attendance, while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants. In the next few
weeks, the USDCPR will provide additional information on this Virtual CLE opportunity
to its bar members, including subject matters and registration procedures.

The USDCPR will also like to confirm that the annual United States Sentencing
Commission (“USSC”) training will be held beginning September 29 through October
2, 2020. As notified to members of the USDCPR’s Criminal Justice Act (“CJA”) Panel of
Attorneys in May 2020, and due to the current COVID-19 health emergency, USSC’s
annual training session will be held in a virtual environment. During these four days, the
USSC will be providing remote/virtual learning opportunities in short on-line sessions (one
to two hours) on discrete topics, rather than a full, one day session. The USDCPR and the
USSC expect to announce the specific topics and dates each session will be held in the
coming days.

For updated information on the December 2020 Virtual CLE seminar and the USSC
Annual Training Session, bar members are encouraged to regularly visit the USDC’s
website (www.prd.uscourts.gov) and official Twitter account (@USCourtsPRD).
In San Juan, Puerto Rico, this 21st day of July 2020.
