the way data and evidence recorded
at the crime scene is both collated
and shared, allowing secure, remote,
multi-user, visual access to all case
evidence as it’s collected and
identified.
The system allows an investigating
officer immediate access to information
from all types of forensic evidence as
they are made and increases team col-
laboration. It also reduces duplication of effort, reduces crime scene visits/revisits and drastically
reduces the time and effort required to familiarize and orientate team members. In short, this system
will save valuable time and as a result, reduce the costs associated with solving serious crime.

R2S™ enables high definition visual and measurement recording of crime scenes and associated
locations, ideal where access is restricted to maintain forensic integrity. These spherical scenes are
subsequently integrated with audio, visual and textual material to build a comprehensive profile of
the scene and extraneous circumstances. Conventional stills or video footage, enhanced material or
specifically commissioned assets, such as 3D computer simulations can all be incorporated into an
R2S™ case.

The R2S™ system is technically advanced, but simple to use. The software enables all case-related
material to be digitized, interlinked and shared across secure networks to maximize collaboration
opportunities. Delays associated with sending and receiving information are eliminated by real-time
updates, permitting latest developments to be published and shared across law enforcement
communities. R2S™ has also proved a powerful court presentation tool for both prosecution and
defense councils.
R2S™ Crime Allows:

The browser-based administration suite provides easy control of user access and

Linked images and 'hotspots' provide an information-rich 'walk-through' of the

Plans/Maps
From atlas views and street maps to the layout of a building drawn roughly on a
sheet of paper, R2S™ Crime can provide enhanced , interlinked plans which,
when displayed with corresponding photographic views, enable effortless
orientation, so that everyone involved in the enquiry can fully understand the
scene.

Audio Files
Recorded interviews, telephone conversations, such as 911 calls and
audio notes can also be included within R2S™.

Sphericals
R2S™ can incorporate high definition 360° spherical images
of the crime scene. These provide a breakthrough in crime
scene recording allowing you to look around scenes at will,
significantlyenlarge areas of interest, obtain spatial measurement within the scene
and, if required, lighten or darken areas of the image to reveal ‘hidden’ detail.

Notes

Documents
R2S™ will incorporate any
documents associated with the
case such as witness statements,
and interview notes, typically through linked
Word or PDF files. Other file formats can be

Forensic Evidence
The exact location of each fingerprint, footprint, DNA sample, or other
forensic evidence taken from the scene of the crime when recorded by
R2S™ Crime using ‘hotspots’ on a spherical image, presents a clear
picture of the crime scene. As soon as evidence is identified, the system
can be updated with relevant details. This means that identifications can be
passed on quicker, improving communication and making the enquiry more efficient.

2D/3D Models/Body Mapping

R2S™ Crime can incorporate specially commissioned,
in-house generated two and three dimensional
computer models and animations. These often provide
additional clarity for relative space/time scenarios or scenes.

Photography
Scene Photos
Typically, scene photographers will take a series of digital images at and around the
vicinity of the crime scene. Using R2S™, images can be instantly uploaded to the case
profile for immediate review in conjunction with all other evidence.
Lab Photos
Professional laboratory photography of items collected from the scene represent an important
element in many investigations. The demand loading capability within R2S™ means that amazingly
detailed, high-res photos can be viewed instantly without waiting for large images to download.

Video and CCTV Footage

Any analogue or digital video footage can be edited and included. This is then
viewed in a pop-up on-screen window with easy-to-use navigation controls.
Whether it’s newmaterial shot at the scene or acquired historical footage, R2S™
will display it without need for a DVD player, VCR or other video equipment. R2S™
can edit, digitise, enhance, and import, relevant CCTV sequences. A logical
timeline and menu system makes it simple to select a particular sequence and
timeframe for review or demonstration purposes.

 Body Mapping Images and How It Works

Body mapping images are used in a DVD format and

are designed to be extremely simple to use. The DVD
has three different sections after this holding page,
including external images, internal images and skeletal
images. Tabs are used to navigate around the product.

One section is used to show external bruising or injuries.

Benefits of R2S Body Mapping :
Often times jury members
may shy away from looking at
pictures of real dead bodies
because of how gory and
disturbing the images can be,
and may not be allowed
during trial as they are
viewed as being too
prejudicial. This of coarse
means that the jury is not
able to properly examine the
evidence provided in court.
With R2S Body Mapping the
jury do not have to be forced
into viewing distressing
photos any longer.
Body Mapping is also very
effective as it helps the jury
to better understand injuries
which can sometimes be
unclear on autopsy pictures.
The actual injuries would be taken from the mortuary
photo and then placed onto a 3D model. The graphics are
extremely detailed and the 3D model can be analyzed and
used in court to explain injuries in a clear, visual way.
The other section is the interior injuries. This could involve
any of a person’s vital organs, intestines etc. If for example
liver had internal injuries which needed to be examined by
the user, in order to get to any internal organ, the
“removal” of the organ must take place on the 3D model
just as real life. Then the injuries of the liver would be
visable. This is a detailed, efficient, and less gory was to
display the injuries that resulted to the inside of the
victim’s body. In this section actual autopsy photo’s are
available for analysis or evidence.
The third section available for use is the skeletal images.
This works with a slider, removing the internals and taking
the user to the skeleton. From there the user can examine
any bone that needs to be reviewed. If at any point the
user would like to view the actual x-rays of any body part,
that option is also available to them. The 3D model may
also be used to show any past fractures, breaks, etc to any
bone in the human body.

The 3D body mapping product is designed to be used in court cases to help the jury
make an informed decision, without being distressed by graphic images. The product
also allows the police and any other agencies involved in a case to develop a greater
understanding of the injuries sustained and also a better picture of how they may have
been inflicted.
