BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING

NORTHERN CASS PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 97

Northern Cass School Library – Rural Hunter, ND


Wednesday, September 9, 2009 – 7:30 p.m.

Present: Audie Brorson, Dale Lako, Susie McDonald, Bart Marvel


Randy Moen, Char Pueppke, Doug Rensvold
Julie Keckler – Business Manager
Allen Burgad – Superintendent

Meeting called to order by President Rensvold.

Also present: Shelly Swanson, elem. Principal and Aaron Schramm, middle school and high school principal.

Moved by Moen second by Brorson to approve minutes from August 11, 2009 meeting as presented – carried
unanimously on roll call vote.

Moved by Pueppke second by Lako to approve agenda as amended – carried unanimously on roll call vote.

Moved by Moen second by Pueppke to approve General Fund, Activity Fund and Hot Lunch Fund financial
reports and heating and electric for August as presented – carried unanimously on roll call vote.

Special Ed, REA and Principal reports presented.

Moved by Moen second by Pueppke to approve General Fund bills for payment holding Butler Machinery bill
and voiding Border States Electric Bill – carried unanimously on roll call vote.

OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Burgad will contact someone to come out and look into the sound system in the new gym.

Bids received from Clayton Nedrebo and Bryan Engebretson for sale of Argusville football field property.
Moved by Brorson second by McDonald to accept bid from Clayton Nedrebo for $5,500.00 for football field
property – carried unanimously on roll call vote.

Board member address and committee list presented to each board member for information.

NEW BUSINESS

Moved by Moen second by Pueppke to approve open enrollment for 3rd grade student from Fargo School
District – carried unanimously on roll call vote.

Moved by Moen second by Pueppke to approve the following: Mike Erstad bus driving contract, Wendy
Longlet elementary teaching contract, Louise Tegtmeier, Destination Imagination contract, Jeanne Meyer, Sue
Quittschreiber and Jim Sinness contract addendums for lane change – carried unanimously on roll call vote.

Moved by Moen second by Pueppke to approve tuition agreement with Page School District for kindergarten
student – carried unanimously on roll call vote.

Information presented on NDSBA Annual Convention to be held October 29-31, 2009 at the Ramkota in
Bismarck, ND. Moen, Rensvold and Brorson will be voting delegates for the convention. McDonald and
Marvel will be attending the new member seminar.

Discussion held on security measures that could be taken for those entering the school during the school day.
Building committee will look into the different options.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
