LEARNING ACTIVITY

I. Give a brief definition/description of the following:

1. Trainings
 This helps employees or develop or strengthen the skills that
are required when applying for a job.
2. Open Meetings
 A kind of meeting wherein any member of the community can
attend to, everyone is allowed to join.
3. One-on-One
 If two people discuss something one-on-one, they discuss it
directly, without involving anyone else.
4. Dyad Presentation
 A pair of two persons, interacting or communicating face-to-
face.
5. Group Dynamics
 It means the study of forces or factors within a group of
individuals.
6. Focus Group Discussion
 Communication within a group of people with the same interest
and discussing a specific topic.
7. Academic Forum
 Is a meeting wherein you get the opportunity to ask questions
about particular courses, majors, and programs of study, and to
introduce yourself to faculty members in various departments.
8. Orientation
 The process of orienting or being oriented for the adjustment
or alignment of oneself or one's ideas to surroundings or
circumstances.
9. Visual Representations
 Communicating or relaying with the use of pictures and audio
visuals.
10.Interviews
 Meeting people for consultation, for questions or to evaluate
another person.
11. Blog
 An informational website published in the internet that contains
comments, hyperlinks and the like.

12. Vlog
 Or short term for Video blog is a type of video posted by people
om the internet for either entertainment, informational
purposes.
13. PowerPoint Presentation
 The presentations are comprised of slides, which may contain
text, images, and other media, such as audio clips and movies,
used in business presentations and educational purposes.
14. Google Classroom
 Is an educational platform for online studying and simplify
creating, distributing, and grading assignments.
15. Multimedia
 Multimedia is the use of a computer to present and combine
text, graphics, audio, and video with links and tools that let the
user navigate, interact, create, and communicate.

II. Make a Communication Strategy:

1. Issue: Suicide among Youth

2. Goal: Prevent suicidal attempts not only among youth but


every person who has had attempts.

3. Audience: Students

4. Constraints: Lack of trust in disclosing information.

5. Concerns: Interview/ One on one talk with a person who has


had suicidal attempts ( some might not admit that they’ve had
suicidal attempts before. )

6. Information Needs: Look for people who’s had suicidal


attempts before, or who has family members or loved ones
who’s had such experiences.

7. Message: “Life looks good on you”

8. Communication tools: Social media platforms ( Facebook,


Twitter, Instagram etc.)

9. Budget/Resources: Budget free since its through social media

10.Timing: Tie up with school’s page or website on social media


platforms, as well as their Campaign against Suicide.

11.Activities/Schedule: Organize your ideas and make lists of the


contacts of people who can help you put your plans into action
( Student government officials)/ Organize a meeting among the

persons involved in executing the activities and brainstorm on


ways of promoting and making the activity successful.
