3. Make a short summary/conclusion based on the information that you gathered by
answering the guide questions below.
4. Follow the format of the report and upload in pdf file.

Guide Questions:
1. Why do you think the above details are important in your observation?
Observing the physical attributes and activities done by a child is essential for us
to understand how these affect their interaction and communication with us. Firstly, their
physical characteristics, like the clothes they were wearing, may significantly affect the
way they do their respective activities. There are instances that there may be something
wrong with their clothes, or they felt hot in the dress they were wearing that may lead
them to feel grumpy or uneasy.
Moreover, observing the activities of a child is important in understanding their
milestones and developmental pathways. There is a possibility that my niece’s
communication skills may be different from other one-year-olds as some may develop
these skills at an early or later age. Also, we can countercheck these activities to the
various theories we have learned from the previous module to determine whether their
social skills and physical attributes are suited for their age. Therefore, this observation
helps us to determine how we could effectively assist a child’s progress and development.

2. Were the things you observed inter-related in some ways? Why or why not?
Through this activity, the interrelationship between the physical characteristics,
activities, and social skills of a child is observed. As I have mentioned in the previous
question, the clothes or accessories a child is wearing may significantly contribute to their
activities. Maybe the child frequently scratches her ear due to the earrings she was
wearing, and she may feel uneasy throughout the observation. This uneasiness may result
in her not to play anymore or will constantly cry during our observation.
On the other hand, if the child feels comfortable with her clothes, this may lead her
to develop a positive social skill and will likely respond when someone plays with her.
Just like my niece, she was too bubbly during my observation maybe because she felt
comfortable with her clothes or she’s not hungry anymore. My niece’s mood during my
observation was good (except for the last part where she cried), and this task has been
smooth. Therefore, the details needed for this observation are all important in
determining the things a one-year-old child does, as well as how she is developing her
communication skills to other people.
