bell or standardized mechanical joint connections.

2 DESCRIPTION

2.1 The pipe described above is designed and manufactured in conformance with AWWA
C-900 “Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pressure Pipe, 4 in. through 12 in. for Water
Distribution”.

2.2 The pipe discussed in this Report is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)
under Standard 61 for toxicology and health effects.

2.3 The material used in the manufacture of the PVC pipe discussed in this report conforms
to PVC 1120, ASTM D-1785 Grade S and is listed in PPI TR-4 with a material
designation of DURECO 7N. The Hydrostatic Design Basis (HDB) for this pipe is 4,000
psi (27.6 mPa) at 73°F (22.8°C).

2.4 The gasketed bell and spigot joints for this pipe utilize a Reiber Style gasket supplied by

3 EXAMINATIONS AND TESTS

Samples were submitted for examination and testing. The samples were considered to
be representative of the product line and were examined, tested, and compared to the
manufacturer's drawings. All data is on file at FM Approvals along with other documents
and correspondence applicable to this program.

All testing and analysis considered appropriate was conducted and verified to be in
compliance with the Standard defined in Section 1.3.

4 MARKING

See attached marking drawing(s).

5 REMARKS

5.1 Installations shall comply with the relevant requirements of the applicable FM Global
Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets and shall comply with the manufacturer’s
installation instructions.

5.2 The pipe can be damaged by sharp particles traveling at high velocities. The pipe
covered in this Report is not recommended for use in installation where the water
velocity exceeds 15 ft/sec (4.6 m/sec).

5.3 The manufacturer recommends that a Hazen-Williams flow coefficient of C=150 be used
for pipe head loss calculations.

5.4 The pipe can be damaged by aromatic hydrocarbons. The pipe discussed in this Report
shall not be used in locations where there is constant spillage or where soil analysis
indicates the presence of aromatic hydrocarbons, including gasoline.

6 SURVEILLANCE AUDIT

The design and manufacturing facilities at the following location shall be visited on a
routine basis. The facility processes and quality control procedures in place have been
determined to be satisfactory to manufacture product identical to that tested and
Approved. A Form 797 shall be submitted to FM Approvals for requesting to
manufacture product at any additional or alternate manufacturing facilities which are not
listed below.

obtained from FM Approvals. The Approved Product - Revision Report, FM Approvals
Form 797, shall be forwarded to FM Approvals as notice of proposed changes.

The manufacturer shall make available to users of the subject equipment installation
instructions as required. The manufacturer shall make additional copies available upon
request.

7.2 Dimensions and Tolerances

The manufacturer shall measure critical pipe dimensions, including bells, at the
beginning of production of each size and class of pipe. Thereafter, critical pipe
dimensions shall be measured at a minimum frequency of every 2 hours. Durman
complies with this requirement.

7.3 Hydrostatic Proof Test

The manufacturer shall conduct a hydrostatic proof test on each standard and random
length of pipe at four times the Pressure Class for a minimum dwell of 5 seconds.
Durman complies with this requirement.

7.4 Flattening Test

The manufacturer shall conduct a flattening capability test at the beginning of production
of each size and class of pipe. Thereafter, the test shall be conducted once every 8
hours. The test shall be conducted by flattening a sample to a minimum of 40 percent of
the outside diameter of the pipe. No evidence of splitting, cracking, flaking or breaking is
permitted. Durman complies with this requirement.

7.5 Extrusion Quality

The manufacturer shall conduct a test of extrusion quality by the acetone-immersion

method as specified in ASTM D2152 at the beginning of production of each size and
class of pipe. Thereafter, the test shall be conducted once every 8 hours. Durman
complies with this requirement.

7.6 Quick-Burst

The manufacturer shall conduct a Quick-Burst test at the beginning of production of each
size and class of pipe. Thereafter, the test shall be conducted once every 24 hours. This
test shall be conducted per the requirements of ASTM D1599. The bell shall be included
in the sample. The sample must meet the minimum requirements shown in Table 4.3.1a
of FM Approval Standard 1612. Durman complies with this requirement.

7.7 Sustained Pressure Test

The manufacturer shall conduct a sustained pressure test as defined in ASTM D1598, at
sustained pressures of 500 psi (3445 kPa) for pressure class 150 and 650 psi (4480

kPa) for pressure class 200 pipe for 1,000 hours. This test shall be conducted at the
beginning of production and semi-annually thereafter. The pipe shall not rupture,
balloon, or weep. Durman complies with this requirement.

8 DOCUMENTATION
