ABSTRACT:

In this work we propose a wearable maternity suit for helping urban women for
normal delivery by changing the habitat of the mother during pregnancy. We
enhanced this model by adding a series of health parameters such as mother’s heart
beat monitor, blood pressure. This work also emphasis the habit of the pregnant
women based on the ancient medical practices for the normal delivery it includes
the remainder for the time to wake up, walking, healthy diet, water remainder and
sufficient hours of sleep which ease the women during labor.

INTRODUCTION:

Due to painlessness, more emphasis is given to cesarean birth as compared to

normal delivery. Though its painful, normal delivery is preferred for healthy
baby and mother. Working women lose the care of mother or grandmother of
previous generation during pregnancy and not able to take care of fetus and
themselves. They are in need of regular reminders of healthy eating , relaxed
sleep time, regular exercise and regular intake of drinking water due to their
work nature. This leads to requirement of remainder system. The problem is
universal for all mothers who are lacking prenatal care. The pregnant women

with less care is prone to more physical and mental health problem like anemia,
stress, hypertension, less/over weight which will affect both mother and
fetal.Recent advances in technologies in healthcare and in particular wearable
technologies ,have positively contributed to new possibilities in controlling and
monitoring health conditions remotely as well as tracking health factors in daily
life environment

Wearable technologies permit people with new tools to engage healthier

lifestyles and habits, monitor their health conditions, therefore reducing their
risk of chronic diseases through behavior change and health surveillanceof
reminder system. This model is one of the few that combine a group of the
patient’s own parameters such as blood pressure, heart rate and physical activity
with a wearable device and it is to empower patients in engaging in healthier
behavior, making them aware of their health condition, provide patients real
time health information to healthcare provides who can enable healthier
pregnancies.

DESCRIPTION:

MICROCONTROLLER:It is an open-source platform used for building

electronics projects. Arduino consists of both a physical programmable circuit
board (often referred to as a microcontroller) and a piece of software, or IDE
(Integrated Development Environment) that runs on your computer, used to
write and upload computer code to the physical board.

LM35 TEMPERATURE SENSOR :

JASC: Journal of Applied Science and Computations ISSN NO: 1076-5131

The LM35 series are precision integrated-circuit temperature devices with an

output voltage linearly-proportional to the Centigrade temperature. This device has
an advantage over linear temperature sensors calibrated in Kelvin, as the user is not
required to subtract a large constant voltage from the output to obtain convenient
Centigrade scaling. The LM35 device does not require any external calibration or
trimming to provide typical accuracies of ±¼°C at room temperature and ±¾°C
over a full −55°C to 150°C temperature range.

RTC DS1307:

The DS1307 real time clock(RTC) IC is an 8 pin device using an I2C interface.
The DS1307 is a low-power clock/calendar with 56 bytes of battery backup
SRAM. The clock/calendar provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month and
year qualified data. The end date of each month is automatically adjusted,
especially for months with less than 31 days.

HEART RATE SENSOR:

This heart beat sensor is designed to give digital output of heart beat when a finger
is placed on it. When the heartbeat detector is working, the top-most LED flashes
with each heart beat. This digital output can be connected to microcontroller
directly to measure the Beats Per Minute (BPM) rate. It works on the principle of
light modulation by blood flow through finger at each pulse. Module dual output
mode, digital output is simple, serial output with exact readings.

ADC0804:

It is a 20-pin Single channel 8-bit ADC module. Meaning it can measure one ADC
value from 0V to 5V and the precision when voltage reference (Vref –pin 9) is
+5V is 19.53mV (Step size). That is for every increase of 19.53mV on input side

there will be an increase of 1 bit at the output side. On chip Clock available, no
need of external Oscillator (Clock).

BUZZER:

A buzzer is a device that is used to generate beep sound(generally a warning or

alert in embedded system). It is a two leg device the longer leg is positive. If
voltages is supplied it generates beep sound. Through analog write volume of beep
can be controlled.

SWITCH:

In electrical engineering, a switch is an electrical component that can make or

break an electrical circuit, interrupting the current or diverting it from one
conductor to another.

LCD DISPLAY:

Liquid Crystal Display is an image displaying technology used in many

electronic devices.

PROCEDURE:

This Maternity suite acts as a companion for pregnant women lacking prenatal
care who are prone to c-section by guiding them to follow ancient medical
practices for normal delivery. It aids pregnant women to check their health
parameter like heart rate , blood pressure and also reminds them to take water ,food
and medicine ,and to do exercise ,and sleep at stipulated time.

APPLICATION:

 Designed particularly for working women.

 It can also used as medical remainder system.

CONCLUSION:

Our main aim of this project is to ensure the number of c-section delivery is
reduced drastically . By implementing this in real time application ,we can reduce
the issues faced by pregnant women during delivery. It also helps pregnant women

to monitor health parameter on their own , so that they can take precaution during
emergency situation.
