TIPS FOR

11 SET GOALS AND TRACK PROGRESS

Planning comes naturally to you. Make advantage of this and document your plans
through an organizer, planner or journal. Set achievable and realistic goals and keep
regular checks to make sure you are on track. This will help you build discipline.

2 KEEP A BUG LOG

Inefficiencies are everywhere. Look around you and you’ll find things that could be better:
products, systems, services, apps, just about anything. Start observing and taking notes
about these “bugs” (in software developer language, it is an error in a computer program
or system). This will serve as food for thought, and develop your eye for opportunities for
improvement.

3 MAKE YOUR LIST OF HEROES

We all look up to certain people, intentionally or subconsciously. Make the effort to

carefully choose who you look up to. Who are your heroes? Make a list of the leaders, busi-
nessmen and women who inspire you, and write down why they inspire you. This will serve as
a guide for the qualities you’d want to develop in yourself.

4 TAKE ON SHORT TERM ASSIGNMENTS

Consider careers where you will be recognised and rewarded for your planning, or-
ganisation skills — relevant fields include business operations, project or product
management, logistics, manufacturing, etc. You could do an internship or practicum to
figure out where you’d be a good fit.

5 WORK WITH SOMEONE WHO COMPLEMENTS YOU

On projects and work-related assignments, someone like a Magician would be a

good fit, given their focus on ideas and innovation. You can together ensure that ide-
as get put into action. Your pragmatism will be a good match for their idealism.
