A Proposal to Uphold Ethical Responsibility as an Employee:

In Response to the Conceptual Case of “The Offer”

Introduction

There are many factors present nowadays to entice management employees to commit
fraudulent acts. Some of these factors may be internal or external factors and either way, there is
no justification valid enough to overlook such actions. Even though they have short-term
benefits, their long-term effects could cause a damage not only to the guilty party but to other
stakeholders around him/her.

Statement Of the Problem

As what Dr. Antonette Angeles said in her lecture, there will always be a time in our
lifetimes where we face a dilemma. Dilemma happens when we are stuck with competing values
and we are not able to choose among them. In the given case, I found myself in a dilemma
wherein I need to choose between my values of being a good and providing parent and the values
of being a responsible employee.

Objectives

To properly address my dilemma, my proposal it to make the decision of rejecting the

offer of the BIR officer and go with the proper and regular assessment process. With this
proposal, I need to find alternative and ethical solutions that will achieve the following
objectives:

a. To find a way to generate money for my daughter’s treatment without violating certain
people or laws in the community
b. To do the best of my capabilities to contribute to the company I work, to solve its cash
flow problems
c. To make an ethical decision with the help of the viral news test and ethical decision
making steps

clear in the case and I know in myself that I did not
violated any rules or other people.
