2. Content
Purpose of this document is to provide the procedure to be followed for WBTS
Commissioning and Integration also Actual WBTS software Upgrade on filed.

This procedure should be practiced as standard process for the said task. However there
may be deviation from the sequence or steps depending upon observation, system
configuration and its behavior during the activity performed. So please read each comment
carefully before proceeding to further step.

3. Recommended SW

WBTS SW: WN9.1 2.0 (WN9.1_2000_0988_12.zip)

McRNC SW: McRNC 4.1 2.0

4. Prerequisites
Tools Required:

Laptop with window 7 OS Installed and at least 260 MB memory


space available on it.
LAN Cable (Straight) for WBTS login.
Laptop Firewall & Antivirus should kept in disable mode.

SW & Other Requirement


Requirement::-

Latest & Updated WBTS IP Plan sheet.


Required WBTS SW.
BTS Manager installed on laptop as per requirement.
Transmission Media should be ready for making WBTS On-
On-air.

5. WBTS C&I and WN_9.1_1.0 Upgrade Procedure

a. Pre-

d. SW Upgrade.

Step: - 5.1.

Connect WBTS by LMP interface,

Install
Install the BTS Site Manager of WN_8.0_4.1 & WN_9.1_1.0 after the new
hardware is ready for power on.
Open BTS Manager and insert Credential and click connect.

BTS manger will open with Installed FSMF and SW information.


Auto configuration window will appear Click disable then close it.

Check the Initial SW of WBTS as below screen shows.

On BTS Manger Click on software Tab

Click on Update to start Upgrade.

Note:
Note: - Once Upgrade started please insure Laptop Power & LAN connection should not disconnect
at any stage during complete upgrade.

Closely monitor Elapsed time of Upgrade progress in

Once Upgrade progress reach at ~1 ~15th Minute BTS will start


Resetting and in ~20th Minute it will ask for “Changing BTS

Manager Version” click close on this window.

Note: - During complete resetting time ~8-

Re-connect automatically, please do not remove
LAN Cable at any case.

In next ~2-
~2-3 Minutes both System ModuleModule (FSMF) and RF
Module (FRGT/FXD
(FRGT/FXDB)B) will be visible on BTS manager, Please
Verify the Installed number of RF module should appeared
on window.

Once Installed RF Modules are visible on BTS manger it may


show the alarm “Incompatible SW Version detected (0023) on
it, Please Upgrade the SW again to bring all RF modules on
required/correct SW level.

Step: - 5.1.

SW upgrade again for target build when BTSSM is
reporting the “Incompatible SW version detected (0023)”
Note: In this step, only the RF Module software is downloaded,

reset RF and no need to reset BTS.

4.5 WBTS Commissioing.


Step: - 5.1.6

Click on Commissioning option in BTS Manager, select Manual

Click Next Tab to go further next page by page.

Select the port speed ( It may vary according to the Transmission Port BW
(1Gig/100Mbit/s/10 Mbit/s) of FSM.

Define the CP/UP1/UP2/Mplane VLAN IP along with CIR & QoS.

As per planning define all VLAN

Define Far end SCTP subnet as per planning sheet along with
SCTP Port no. & all parameters as shown below.

Select the respective IP from dropdown menu.


For Management Plane select BTS Subnet Interface.
For Synchronization Plane select CP Vlan IP

Select the Synchronous Ethernet FSM as Sync source.


SYNC Source may vary if you have to select TOP server as
Sync.

Define BTS routing as per planning sheet.


Last two static route destinations IP will be common for all
WBTS. As they are for WBTS O&M & remote login from
OMS.

Define Config_Name as per site Config (1+1+1,2+2+2)


Define Synchronization Source (select SyncE as synch
source)

Select Automatic Licensing in use.


Select R99 CE quantity as per site config.
Select CCH Processing Set Licenses quantity as per config.

Note: Each Site can have different License as per site config same can be asked
from RF team.

Define LCR id and corresponding RF ports.

6 IP Connectivity Test
Please verify All configured Host IP’s are reachable by Below
Process.
Click on Tests IP Connectivity Test

New window will appear, select All Configured host and click
start.

If all Hosts are reachable then in Test Result it’ll show Connected and if
any of host is not reachable then it’ll show “Not connected”.

Also if need to ping any specific i.e. gateway IP, then Insert the
IP of gateway on address Box and select source address and
check the Test Result.

Check all Four (UP1/UP2/C


P1/UP2/CP

7 Final check
Ensure there is no alarm in BTS manager before leaving from site.
Ensure you have taken the Complete Snapshot of current BTS
configuration.
Before removing LAN cable from LMP port make sure the BTS Site
Manger has been closed properly.
*At last FSMF Box has packed with TOP Cover and screws have
tightened as required.

Note: License quantity & all features must be confirmed from RF team before
putting them in SCF file.
