words (10 Marks)
ANS:
A monument is an old building or place that is an important part of a country's
history, as the definition states a monument is old which means that it has
survived the test of time. Monuments are an important part of the country’s
history it shows very important events which have occurred in the course of
time.
A monument which had an impact on me is the Shree Somnath Jyotirlinga
Temple in Somnath, Gujarat. Somnath Temple is one of the first among the
twelve Jyotirlinga shrines existents in India.
Somnath Temple survived the test of time seventeen times when the ruthless
and brutal Muslim invaders came and plundered it. It has always inspired me
to get back up no matter how many times you fall. The temple never fails to
mesmerise me with its interiors and always inspires me to shine bright as the
gems which were intricately placed but fate had different plans for them as
they were stolen and taken away by the Muslim invaders.
Finally, this temple had the strongest impact on me than any other monument
existent.
