You can add -ing to the base form of a verb and use it as a noun. This form is called a gerund.

You can use gerunds as subjects of sentences or as objects of verbs.

You can put to before the base form of a verb and use the two words together as a noun. This form is called an infinitive. Infinitives can be used as objects of verbs. Some
verbs can have either gerunds or infinitives as objects.

Some verbs can have gerunds as objects, but they cannot have infinitives as objects.

Some verbs can have infinitives as objects, but they cannot have gerunds as objects.

You can use the verb go before many gerunds to talk about activities.
