COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE

Computer architecture encourages experimentation with designs for faster, smaller and efficient computing
hardware. Core modules of the course include computer architecture, embedded systems, embedded software
development, operating systems, programmable system-on-chip, digital signal pro-cessing, wireless
communications, and algorithms to architectures, electronic design automation and computation-al intelligence.

DATA SCIENCE/ANALYTICS
This specialisation is emerging as an important base for decision-making and strategic planning. Core modules of the
course include data mining, data warehousing, statistical and quantitative analysis, artificial intelligence,
collaborative systems, using R (a programming language), business analytics software like IBM's InfoSphere platform
and analytics technology, etc. Students learn to de-sign filters and permutations of data to uncover pat-terns and
trends in unstructured data which have numerous commercial applications like predicting customer behaviour,
tracking market cycles, optimising websites for customer retention, spotting potential cluster opportunities, dealing
with security threats and mapping customer pro-files. This field accepts students from varied disciplines with a
strong quantitative aptitude.

MULTIMEDIA AND CREATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

This specialisation integrates disciplines of creative arts and software engineering. The programme trains students in
core technologies that are common to visual effects, mobile applications, Android apps, visual graphics. digital
marketing, gaming. animation, adapted algorithms, cryptography, digital media, intelligent control and cognitive
systems, interactive communication design, security and integrity of systems. Students are also trained to develop
mobile apps for specific functions keeping security compliance in mind.

CLOUD ARCHITECTURE AND COMPUTING

This specialisation is de-fined as an understanding of 'virtualised networking'. Students learn to integrate networks
of mobile applications, Android. iOS devices, business intelligence systems, etc. Multiple technical platforms and
apps work seamlessly together with the 'cloud'. Cloud architects learn to create 'hybrid clouds' and on analysing
which cloud services make the most economic sense for an organisation and which should be farmed out on a pay-
per-use basis.

GAME DEVELOPMENT
Game development focuses on creating a simulated learning experience. Stu-dents are trained in modules like
artificial intelligence, multiplayer game development, game engine, 3D graphics and rendering, immersive game
development, computer animation and simulation, networked artificial intelligence, ad-vanced mobile devices and
game consoles, interface design, sound design for games, audio expression, critical theory and analysis of games,
anatomy of a game, etc.

COMPUTER SECURITY
Computer security is a field that protects the transmission of all kinds of confidential information through easily
accessible cyber mediums. Students are trained in modules including cryptography, network security operating
systems, digital forensics and investigations, network forensics, malware forensic analysis, develop-ing secure
systems, cyber security, advanced coding theory, managing information security, etc.
ROBOTICS
Robotics is at the core of all new intelligent devices and automation. Aspirants opting for this specialisation study
modules including machine learning, artificial intelligence, computational models and neural systems, gadgetry,
humanoids, feedback control systems, robot kinetics and dynamics, computer vision, human-robot interaction,
manipulation, mobility and control systems engineering, computer vision, sensing and sensors, mechanics of
manipulation, dynamic optimisation, mobile robots, mechatronic design, statistical techniques in robotics, algorithm
design and analysis. ASSISTIVE DEVICES AND SOFTWARE A specialisation in this field focuses on developing hard-
ware and software to meet the needs of people with physical and mental challenges. Students take modules such as
human-computer interaction, ap-plied biomechanics and motor control, interface in assistive technology, human
characteristics in relation to assistive technology soft-ware development, product design and development,
augmentative and alternative communication.
