Tahir Mohsan is the founder of Time Computers, Tpad, Supanet and currently manag

es several investment companies from his base in Dubai, UAE.


Time Computers was set up by Tahir Mohsan and his half-brother, Tariq Mohammed,
in 1987 with an investment of just £1,000. At that time Mohsan was aged just 16. T
his later diversified into many businesses.
Following its takeover of rival Tiny in 2002, the £207m-turnover UK operation (own
ed by Granville Technology) had a national chain of over 300 retail stores that
traded under the Computer Shop brand.
Time Group continues in the UK, Middle East and the Far East, supplying computer
s, notebooks, plasma screens, telephone systems and TFT screens around the world
.
Mohsan also owns the UK's 5th largest Internet service provider Supanet, current
ly under the control of Zuber Mohsan who is the companies managing director the

ies across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. These range from hardware manufactu
ring and sales to Internet services, software development and (VoIP) Voice over
IP technology company Tpad.
Tpad is a company built on a successful and strong heritage within the communica
tions industry, specialising in providing valuable, high quality telephony servi
ces and solutions to businesses worldwide.
Tpad specialise in providing business class VoIP telephone systems to any busine
ss in the World using the latest hosted or managed IP PBX technology.
He has acquired the Evesham Technology Group, currently the UK's largest PC and
flat-screen manufacturer.
Tahir Mohsan was born and educated in Blackburn and is one of five brothers.
In 1987, at the age of 16, he founded Time Computers, which went on to become Br
itain s largest PC manufacturer with a turnover of over $750 million. He has retai
ned an interest in the business to this day, having moved to Dubai in 2001 to de
velop the Time brand in the Middle East and South East Asia.

In 1996 he was asked by the East Lancashire Training & Enterprise Council to bec
ome a non executive director, in which post he remained until 2000, when the cou
ncils were disbanded.
In 1998, he founded Supanet which launched in 1999 as the largest privately owne
d internet service provider (ISP) in the UK.
In 1999 his success in the field of IT and communications was noticed by governm
ent and he was asked to become a non executive director of the newly founded Uni
versity for Industry, chaired by Lord Dearing. Its aim was to use the latest adv
ances in the fields of IT to bring education to all members of the British publi
c. Mohsan was tasked with chairing the IT subcommittee which went on to launch o
n time, on budget, the largest online university in the world. In 2004, he resig
ned as chairman and director due to ever increasing commitments in Dubai.
In 2000 Mohsan was invited to attend Buckingham place by HRH Queen Elizabeth II
as part of a group of young people who had achieved a great deal for their commu
nities. In the same year, he had bestowed on him an Honorary Fellowship from the
University of Lancashire for services to industry.
Also in 2000, he was asked by the Chairman of the East Lancashire Training and E
nterprise Councils and Business Link to set up a business support agency for int
egrating the ethnic businesses of Lancashire into the main population. The resul
ts was the Asian Business Federation, which was launched in June 2000.
Today, as part of Enterprise4All, the ABF covers the whole North West region and
continues to thrive under the chairmanship of Mohsan.
