1. Johana’s friend Nicole is coming to Colombia. She’s traveling from Melbourne to


Bogota. She wrote an e-mail to Johana showing her itinerary. Please, read the

Writing plan: / Plan de escritura:

Objective: To write a reply to Nicole e-mail message.

Plan:

1. Johana thanks Nicole for her message.


2. Johana tells Nicole she has to arrive to Mildura train station one hour before the train
departures.
3. Johana tells Nicole that after the train arrives in Melbourne, she needs to take a bus from
the train station to Tullamarine International airport.
4. Johana recommends having the passport and boarding pass on hand before the check in.
5. Johana tells Nicole that the flight to Los Angeles takes very long. Considering the length of
the journey, Johana thinks it is better to take the red-eye and avoid spending the night at
the hotel airport.
6. Johana tells Nicole that the boarding gate to Bogota’s flight is at Terminal 5. Thus, Nicole
has to take a shuttle from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5.
7. Johana tells Nicole, she can’t spend too much time walking around because she can miss
her flight.
8. Johana tells Nicole that she is working in the afternoons now. So, on September 21 st she
can’t go to El Dorado airport. Johana tells Nicole that after she arrives in Bogota, she has
to go pass by the immigration checkpoints.
9. Johana tells Nicole that after passing immigration she has to go to the baggage claim
section and pick up her luggage.
10. Johana tells Nicole that there are taxi points at El Dorado Airport where she can ask for a
safe Taxi. Or if she prefers so, she can call an Uber through the app.
11. Johana tells Nicole to ask the driver to take her to the downtown, where Johana lives.
12. Johana tells Nicole about 5 places they can visit together in Bogota.
13. Johana says goodbye.

Check: Read the e-mail again and check for mistakes (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.).

4. Now, write the e-mail to complete the evidence. You have to give Nicole clear
instructions by following the writing plan and using at least five (5) prepositions of
movement in the appropriate contexts. Keep in mind all the different means of
transportation Nicole will be using and the places she will go through. / Ahora, escriba

5. Include 5 activities Nicole can do when visiting Bogotá. To write the sentences use
the modal verbs studied in the unit. For these suggestions, we recommend to do some

recomendamos hacer una pequña investigación.

 You can visit the Gold museum. You have to pay around 4.000 for admission. There
are daily free tours so you don’t have to pay to get a lot of information about the

thank you for your message

I am glad to hear from you

I have read your travel itinerary, remember that you have to


arrive at the Mildura train station an hour before the train
departs, after the train arrives in Melbourne, you have to take
a bus from the train station to the airport Tullamarine
International.

Remember to carry your passport and boarding pass by hand, I


want to tell you that the flight to Los Angeles is long, you
must rest.

Also remember that the boarding gate of the Bogota flight is in


terminal 5, therefore you have to take a shuttle from terminal
2 to terminal 5, you cannot delay because you may miss your
flight.

For that date, September 21, I will be working, so I cannot


pick you up at the airport, there you must first pass the
immigration controls and then you have to go to claim your
luggage.

Once you have everything ready, you can go to the safe taxi
points at the airport and ask the driver to take you downtown,
that's where I live.

You are going to have a lot of fun in Bogota, here you can
visit the Botero Museum, it is one of the most famous tourist
sites for the works that are there by the master Fernando
Botero, you can also walk the streets of La Candelaria and see
its beautiful old houses or visit the quevedo jet, it is the
most beautiful square I have seen as well as moserrate, it is
beautiful and you can visit the sanctuary of the fallen man, oh
and I know you will love to visit the colpatria tower, it has a
viewpoint on the 50th floor that gives away the best views of
the city
