Chapter 5
Why did I decide to study psychology?
From the beginning when I was younger, in high school psychology always caught my attention, but I never began to investigate what this area of health was about, and when I entered high school there we had to do an exercise of how we We wanted to see in 10 years and then that was where I did not want to study any engineering degree, neither careers such as administration did not attract my attention, what I wanted was a career in the area of health but not medicine, then I really don't know why this career caught my attention but little by little I was investigating and I liked it a lot. Also, when I entered high school in the vocational guidance subject, there they guided you or rather the university careers came and I began to read each and every one of them and I saw that in some I did not have the requirements to be there and in Some careers such as civil engineering asked you to know a lot about algebra and algebra and mathematics are something that does not attract attention, I wanted something more related to humanities so I started studying or reading more about this career. and little by little I realized that I was liking it and that I liked dealing with people. So I decided to take the admission exam to enter this career. I also began to investigate the work areas where I could perform when I graduated and I liked that there are many areas where psychology can develop for example; There is the work area and the clinical area, which for me are two areas where there is a lot of work not only in the personal area but there are also many companies where they hire psychologists for the human resources area, as well as there are institutions where they hire psychologists for the clinical area. I also decided to study psychology because I like it, I simply believe that I have a vocation and knowledge, patience, among other things, I believe that if one day I get to give therapy it is something that I will like a lot and I will never get bored, I think that to be here in psychology in this career is not for anyone, it is for people who really have a vocation, mainly in the clinical area because many of the times you can touch delicate topics and that because I believe that many things are not taught to you in the university if not that you yourself have to be informed from other sources, And finally I decided to study psychology mainly because it is what I want to dedicate myself to, it is something that I like and for me it is important that you do not see your career as to make money if not more as a satisfaction of your own but money is more important that you feel comfortable with what you do that you feel full.
