INTRODUCTION:
In today’s world, majority of the businesses are digitalizing and moving to the online platform.
AppItUp is an online business development event. In this event the participants will have to come
with their own app idea and provide details of their business. It is an event that will help students
understand the intricacies of doing business on such a platform
This event does not involve the technical and software aspect of the application but mainly focuses on
the ideation, creativity and feasibility aspect of the application and the business model. It also
concentrates on its strategies and its promotional activities.

EVENT TAKEAWAY:
 Improves research skills and increases knowledge in this field
 Teaches how to work in a team
 Brings out the creativity in the participants
 Improves analysing skills
 Builds confidence and brings out hidden potential
 Develops spontaneous thinking
ELIGIBILITY:
1. The Competition is open to teams of 3 (herein defined as “Participants”).
2. Teams are limited to one submission each. Individuals can only be a part of one group.
3. The Competition is open to all first year students of Christ University, BGR. Participation is
encouraged from eligible individuals/teams with the drive to innovate regardless of their course or
year.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Participants are required to submit application proposals. The proposal should be in PDF format, no
longer than 15-20 pages, and should include:

 Name of the application

 Participant names along with their register number and contact email
 Mission and Vision of the App
 Application description (the idea)
 Objective of the app (Primary/Secondary Objective)
 STP Analysis
 Marketing Components (4P’s of marketing)
 Revenue Model :
Revenue model strategies
Break even analysis
 SWOT Analysis
 Future prospects
Submission of application proposals should be emailed to: caps.bgr@christuniversity.in AND
caps.sbsss@christuniversity.in with subject line “Proposal – App Entry”
Once you have submitted your application, screening period takes place in which a set of qualified
and eligible applications will be selected among all the participants. Selected teams will be given
invitations to proceed with online presentation which will be conducted on WebEx.
In the online presentation, the respective teams will be having a 15 minutes session wherein the first
10 minutes will be for presentation and the next 5 minutes for rebuttal and scoring.

JUDGING CRITERIA:
The selection criteria will include the following:
1. Perceived Value & Importance
The first step in building a great mobile application is identifying the need you seek to meet
with your application. This could be a problem you wish to solve, a task your application will
help mobile users do, or maybe a better, faster way to accomplish something for the people on
the go. A successful application will meet an important need and may be part of a sustainable
business.
2. Originality & Innovation
How unique and original is your application idea? How well does your application compete
against any competitors? How does your application make innovative usage of the mobile
platform to meet users’ needs?
3. Quality of User Experience
Does the application have clear user experience goals and well-defined user scenarios?
4. Definition and Business Viability
How does your application fit into a business model for meeting your users’ needs? At the
final competition, does your Live Presentation convince the judges that you’ve got a great
project and a clear market opportunity?

JUDGES PANEL:
1. Mr. Kevin Saboo -CEO, Mortgage Services
He has 20 years of work experience with strong general management experience
in strategy, project management and growing startups. He has extensive
experience in founding, managing and growing BPO enterprises in Financial
and Mortgage space for the North American market. Kevin has led large teams
and executed several systems and process automation initiatives while
enhancing performance and cutting costs. Kevin is an MBA from Indian
Institute of Management, Ahmadabad and Bachelors from Indian Institute of
Technology, Madras.

2. Rajeev Kumar (Business Head) 

He has 9 years of experience in ITES industry. He has handled diversified roles
throughout his career (Marketing, Sales & Business Development, and Customer
Relationship Management) that allows him to understand challenges at different
stages and build relationships that last long. 

3. Mr. Anuraag Saboo – Alumni Christ University

An Entrepreneur all his life, Electrical and Electronics Engineer from IIT Chennai and
MBA from IIM Bangalore with 24 + years of work experience in varied industries,
Awarded Gold medal for topping his class in IIT, Co-founded companies in SAAS,
Manufacturing and Ecommerce Solutions, Awarded Certified Market Technician
(CMT) degree by CMT Association, USA, CFP (Chartered Financial Planner) by
FPSB, USA, and CFTe (Chartered Financial Technician) by IFTA, UK. Currently
passionately building World class Wealth Tech platforms for leading financial
institutions and advisors.
He is also passionate about teaching, learning and following Financial Planning,
Investing, Trading, Market Analytics, Algorithmic Investing and Trading. He is one
 of the highest rated trainers in the country in Financial Education Domain. He has
conducted over 250 workshops and trained over 4000 people in the science of modern
markets analysis.

WINNER DETERMINATION AND PRIZES

1. After the close of the Submission Period, a panel of qualified judges will review all eligible entries
received and select up to ten (10) finalists. The finalists will have to attend the WebEx meeting for
their presentation.
2. Based on the presentation and rebuttal, the judges will determine the top 3 winners. The winners
will be announced the very next day.
