Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the Bachelor program in Electrical Engineering, in which I am very interested. The degree from one of
the most prestigious, superior and respected universities is my chance to enrich my knowledge and professionally outgrowth.
Through this motivation letter, I would like to state my candidacy for enrolment in this undergraduate program.

In 2018, I have finished my high school studies from Federal Government Sir Syed College in Rawalpindi in Pakistan and
received the High school certificate. In high school I have majored in the sciences. During the course of my studies I have took
the most advanced courses in mathematics, chemistry and physics available in order to challenge myself and make sure that I
will be well prepared for University. Even though sometimes it was hard to follow this combination of courses, due to really
hard workload, I have given my best to obtain good grades thanks to my passion, commitment and hard work.

My interest in electrical engineering began during my primary school when I first came into contact with electronic circuits and
printed circuit boards after that I incented to start working on small projects of my own, creating electrical circuits mostly
simple ones. I have followed online tutorials to solve the problems I have encountered on my way. It was really interesting and
empowering to create something new, from the scratch

Throughout my schooling I have always participated in the opportunities that would enhance my leadership and team working
skills. For example I took part in the event in my school .Thanks to this experience I have learned that it is very important to
take initiative whilst working in a team

Studying at University of Debrecen would be an excellent platform to build the synergies of my previous knowledge and
competence I will gain through studying on the program for Electrical engineering. Moreover, I believe that university if
Debrecen will open me many new opportunities in life and I am eager to undertake this challenge.

In conclusion, I would like to reconfirm that I am eager to gain new experiences, improve my skills and broaden my
understanding of the electrical engineering world, and I am persuaded that studying in the Electrical engineering in university
of Debrecen would contribute to my development as an electrical Engineer in the best possible way.
Thank you very much for considering my application.

Shahir Ahmed.

a. Speakers often experience this same feeling even when they are talking over the radio.
"Microphone fright," it is called. When Charlie Chaplin went on the air, he had his speech all
written out. Surely, he was used to audiences. He toured this country back in 1912 with a
vaudeville sketch entitled "A Night in a Music Hall." Before that he was on the legitimate stage in
England. Yet, when he went into the padded room and faced the microphone, he had a feeling
in the stomach not unlike the sensation one gets when he crosses the Atlantic during a stormy
February.

b. Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not
supermen. Success does not require a super intellect. Nor is there anything mystical about
success. And success isn't based on luck. Successful people are just ordinary folks who have
developed belief in themselves and what they do. Never-yes, never-sell yourself short.

c. Self-esteem is both the cause and effect of our leading inappropriate lives. When you have high
self-esteem, it allows you to try new things knowing that who you are does not affect the
outcome. Your self-esteem is also intertwined with your personal integrity. Each time you act in
accordance with your belief about who you are, you reinforce your decision that your belief is
true. Likewise, when you have low self-esteem, your actions are often held back by your fear
that you can’t accomplish the deed in front of you. When you hold back, you reinforce your
belief and prove yourself right.

d. Don't be a wishful thinker. Don't waste your mental muscles dreaming of an effortless way to
win success. We don't become successful simply through luck. Success comes from doing those
thighs and mastering those principles that produce success. Don't count on luck for promotions,
victories, the good things in life. Luck simply isn't designed to deliver these good things. Instead,
just concentrate on developing those qualities in yourself that will make you a winner.

Question no 04:
Read the narrative given below and answer the questions to express your understanding as well as
knowledge of narrative structure. (2x4=8)

Life Isn’t Fair

Occasionally, she’d stare out the window in longing. Longing for anything really. It was like nowadays; all she’d feel
was emptiness. She just wanted to feel something again. When her mother was there, she’d only felt joy. She loved
her mother and had had a close bond with her for as long as she could remember.
Years ago, her father had left their family. He’d gone in the middle of the night, without alerting anyone. It wasn’t fair.
Her peers had whole and functional families. Their dads were nice to them, kind. Some stern, some occasionally
reckless, but they all loved their children. Her dad? Well, her dad was a drunk. He wouldn’t go a night without drinking.
And now her mother was gone too. The girl comforted herself, told herself that her mother hadn’t done it because she
didn’t love her. It wasn’t the same situation as her dad, who didn’t care for them. Her mother had kindness and love for
her that no other parental figure could ever have for her. She had a few aunts and uncles but barely talked to any of
them.
But it felt like her mom had left her alone. She left her to deal with the cruelty of the world when she wasn’t prepared
for it. She knew that she shouldn’t blame her. It wasn’t fair for her mother. But at the same time, it wasn’t fair for her
either. She couldn’t help it. The world wasn’t fair. Her life was never fair. Perhaps it was her fault. She was a tad bit
disobedient as a child, sometimes sneaking out of the house passed her bedtime to go to the park, sometimes drawing
on her parents’ car with a marker.
These had never gone well with her father. She’d go to sleep with bruises or a black eye. Her mother? Her mother was
kind to her during these times. She was understanding. While she didn’t defend her from her father and still scolded
the girl, she wasn’t abusive. Nothing like her father.
And this brought her back to her argument that life wasn’t fair. No, not life. Just her life. In her life, nothing was ever
fair. Which was why she’d done what she’d done. It wasn’t her fault that what happened. It still wasn’t her fault as she
laid her mother’s body in her backyard, her own clothes stained with blood.
Life wasn’t fair. And that wasn’t her fault.

a. Briefly pen down main plot of the above given narrative.

b. what do you know about main character of the story? What kind of a person you think she
is?
c. To what extant do you agree with the statement, Life isn’t fair?
d. The story ends with “that wasn’t her fault”, do you agree?
