SECTION 1 ECO IDLE STOP FUNCTION
[Supplement]
For lathe, the following two conditions are included in "Not during ATC/APC/AAC/PPC cycle".
Not during an expanded ATC manual operation of simplified operation function.
Not during a manual tool call or storage operation with matrix magazine ATC specification.
Settings for "Not during spindle/M-spindle control" of machining center can be changed using
parameters only during automatic operation mode. It is always included as a condition during
MDI/manual operation mode.

SECTION 1 ECO IDLE STOP FUNCTION
Procedure :
2 The menu keys appear from the option key. Press the ECO Parameter key.
3 When the ECO IDLE STOP key is pressed, the ECO IDLE STOP parameter setting
screen appears.
4 The ECO IDLE STOP parameter setting screen has two or more pages; the main pages
among those are the auxiliary units setting screen and the condition setting screen. Use the
page key to feed the pages.

SECTION 1 ECO IDLE STOP FUNCTION
Procedure :
1 Display the ECO IDLE STOP parameter setting screen to display the first page with the page
key.
2 Locate the cursor to DELAY TIME of the unit for automatic control. Then select [F7] (AUTO)
from [F1] (MENU).

during automatic/MDI operation mode.
Reset.
[Supplement]
Reset can be set to ineffective by setting "ECO IDLE STOP canceled by reset" to "NO" on the
ECO IDLE STOP parameter setting screen.
NC start is executed by a cycle start command from an external device, or by a machine
operation command after the time set in "NC start waiting timer after releasing ECO IDLE
STOP" on the ECO IDLE STOP parameter setting screen has elapsed.
If the ECO stop mode is activated during program stop with a machining center, the ECO idle
stop mode cannot be released by a cycle start command from an external device since some
units remain stopped.
With a lathe, the ECO idle stop mode is not activated during program stop.
External link devices include the following devices.
Robot/loader when the robot/loader IF specification is provided.
OGL loader (lathe) when the OGL loader specification is provided.
APC (lathe) when the APC IF specification is provided.
Machine operation commands from external link devices include the following commands.
Spindle relevant command
Door relevant command
Chuck relevant command
Tailstock relevant command
Steadyrest relevant command
Air blow relevant command
Coolant relevant command
Chip conveyor
Coolant/chip washing
Spindle rotation
[Supplement]
With the chip conveyor on a lathe, only the manual command needs to be issued again. The
link command is automatically restored.
With the coolant/chip washing on a lathe, only the M code command needs to be issued
again. The manual command is automatically restored.

[Supplement]
The CO2 emission coefficient varies depending on the country, region, year, company to
purchase the power or other factors.
The initial value is set based on the value for the year 2014 (alternative value) announced by
Ministry of the Environment, Japan. Change the parameter as needed basis.

SECTION 6 PRECAUTIONS
There are some auxiliary units that will not be stopped by the ECO idle stop function.
Some units share the pump between the coolant system and the chip washing unit. In such a case,
when the auxiliary unit on the side that controlling the pump is stopped, the mated auxiliary unit is also
stopped.
Various parameters required for power calculation have been set in advance for the spindles and feed
axes. Based on those parameters the power consumption is calculated from the machine operating
status and the servo unit status. Therefore, the calculated power consumption may not be the same as
the actual power consumption depending on the machine usage method or usage environment.
The power consumption with auxiliary units are calculated based on the average power consumption set
in advance and the auxiliary unit ON/OFF status. Therefore, the calculated power consumption may not
be the same as the actual power consumption depending on the machine usage method or usage
environment. Especially the difference from the actual power consumption may become large with the
auxiliary units controlled based on the external sensor data such as the auxiliary unit employing the
inverter control method or the oil temperature controller.
When the power meter is installed (optional specification), only the integrated power is acquired from the
power meter. The instant power may not be the same as the actual power consumption depending on the
machine usage method or usage environment since the instant power is determined by calculation.
