In today's world, the media is as necessary as our everyday needs. In generating
and influencing public opinion and improving democracy, today's media plays an excellent role. Therefore, Social media can be used as news media. In democratic systems, it plays an important role because it allows for participation by citizens. In other words, it is important that the news stays accurate when it comes to stable political networks so that it does not impact the degree of confidence of citizens. However, the internet has a stronger impact than ever before on people now. It is reasonable to think that if our ancestors were alive, they will see a very weird and unfamiliar planet. Our world is constantly evolving, from politics to the environment. Technology is one part of civilization that is continually advancing. In our present-day world, the usual forms of communication and study are changing, we have just reached a new decade, and I believe it is time for old patterns to be disrupted and replaced with new and advanced ones. Not only does technology drive our society forward into a modern and advanced age, it binds our world in a way that people never considered possible. Without technology, at the same time as our ancestors, we will all be trapped, never going on to see a better future. Although technology comes with its glitches, it brings so many wonderful things, such as peace, to our world. For people anywhere and everywhere, technology is a really positive thing, no matter how old, it supports us in every part of our everyday lives, and it's a thing that can't be done without. In my opinion, I’d say that social media, the internet, and smart phones been beneficial to us because traveling and communicating abroad is simpler now than ever before. The popularization of smartphones and social media provides the world with constant and quick access. The emergence of social media and networking in recent decades has profoundly affected globalization. Modern technology innovations continue to transform the way we think, feel, and act, and live. Digital media has brought communication to a larger extent of interconnection and complexity. Mobile access allows for conveniently accessible and easy contact. The consumers have power over what is observed and what is seen and shared. By improving the quantity and quality of interpersonal communication, these interconnected systems can make communication simpler and smoother by improving both the quantity and quality of interpersonal communication. According to Nicholas Carr Nicholas carr, in the article “Is google making us stupid”, “it says with Facebook and Twitter and the like, the traditional relationship between political authority and popular will has been upended, making it easier for the powerless to collaborate, coordinate, and give a voice to their concerns.” Also in Gladwell’s article, he states that “ The world, we are told, is in the midst of a revolution.” The two illustrate two separate scenarios, one set in a period when technology was used the way it is today, and the other was more modern times and how both conditions had a comparable effect but used distinct approaches. Therefore, they both have different opinions. One addressed the effects of the 1960s lunch counter-movements with ideas about the loose social groups on Facebook and Twitter that activists aim to catalyze. Gladwell's piece criticism of the latest applications of the current generation of modern tools. They both believe in technology is not benefiting us, if anything it is enabling us for real connections to take action against causes (Gladwell) and lacking in our way of understanding information (Carr). Gladwell in his essay ultimately does think technology, primarily in social media can be very powerful, but what's the point if what is being presented could be misunderstood. On the other hand, Carr completely is against technology and what it has done for us, he believes it enables us to think for ourselves since everything is at the palm of our hands. We no longer take the time to read a book or be social in person anymore since everything is being portrayed digital. The fact is that when via Facebook or Twitter, very few big advocacy campaigns achieve. The strong comparison-and-contrast with Birmingham and the broader civil rights movement throws harsh relief at the possibility that we are minimizing and deracinating protests, and I think that's a positive thing. Also, in the article Gladwell points to some of the positivist ways in which social media has changed the environment due to social media. Gladwell states, Facebook and Twitter... make it easier for the powerless to collaborate, coordinate, and give the voice concerns." Gladwell shows that through technology, our world has become more connected. with technology advancements, come downsides as well as Nicholas carr. In the essay Is google making us stupid? Carr claims that" his mind now expects to take in information the way the Net distributes it." Downsides are coming as well as Nicholas. The connection is that the internet can provide potential harm to other aspects of reality in ways that are not always ideal. In conclusion, Without technology in our lives, it will be a very different place in our world. Technology not only gives us a fresh and better means of talking, it gives us new and interesting ways to research and bring ideas out to the public more quickly. People need to remember that across history, society has always changed, and that technology is now one of the things that is making a major change. Our scientific advancements have been and will always be a positive thing that our planet will always benefit from. Gladwell and Nicholas Carr have very different views on technology but relatively meet halfway with the understanding that it's an inefficient tool for society. They both demonstrate real life events to show their beliefs on technology and the poor value it brings to the principle of today. Lastly, id thinks that it is beneficial for us but at the same time, there can be some disadvantages.
