Detail:
Previously, a communication has been released to indicate an increased amount of grease as a remedy. Additional
changes will be introduced to the Fixing Drawer Mount, Compression Spring and Stepped Screw aimed at further
improvement in performance.
<Symptom>
E001, E003 or E006 is displayed.
<Cause>
The Washer [1] of the Fixing Drawer Connector mounting on the machine Rear Plate slides on the Stepped Screw
surface [2] when the Fixing Assembly is set to the machine. However, a force of the Compression Spring [3] becomes
inadequate because frictional resistance between the Washer and the Stepped Screw surface is large, leading to poor
contact of the Drawer Connector on the Fixing Feeder Unit.

<Factory measures>
Apply grease to the Stepped Screw Surface of the Fixing Drawer Connector so that frictional resistance between the
Washer and the Stepped Screw surface will be lessened and poor contact of the Drawer Connector will be prevented.
Moreover, the following changes will be made to the Fixing Drawer Mount, Compression Spring and Stepped Screw
to ensure the proper engagement of the Drawer Connector.

Service work:
If the foregoing symptom has occurred, go through the following steps to replace the Fixing Drawer Mount,
Compression Spring and Stepped Screw with their respective new types and apply grease on the surface of the
Stepped Screw.
Caution:
Be sure to replace all these items at the same time so as to ensure the proper operation of the Drawer.
To facilitate service work, there will be a service part in the form of a Fixing Drawer Mount set consisting of 7 items:
Fixing Drawer Mount (1 pc.), Compression Spring (2 pcs.), Stepped Screw (2 pcs.) and Washer (2 pcs.).
<Replacing the Fixing Drawer Mount and how to apply grease>
1. Refer to Parts Replacement Procedure > Controller Box in the Service Manual and remove the Controller Box.
2. Disconnect the Connector [1] and detach the cables from the 4 Cable Retainers [2].
3. Remove the 2 Screws [3] and detach the Fixing Drawer Connector [4].

4. Remove the Fixing Assembly Drawer Mount, Compression Spring and Stepped Screw.
5. Apply grease [MolykotePG641 (CK-0562-000)] evenly to the new type Stepped Screw surface where the Washer
slides.
<Note> Take notice that grease does not adhere to other areas, especially to the Connector Terminals.
6. Starting with step 4. above but in reverse, fit the following in place (new types): Fixing Assembly Drawer Mount,
Compression Spring, Stepped Screw, Washer, Controller Box.

Points to note about service work:

There is possibility that the Fixing Drawer Connector may have bad connection because of the following 2 causes.
When performing the forgoing service work, check those causes at the same time and carry out the remedy below, if
necessary.

1. Deformation of the Interlock Sensor Flag [1] and the Release arm [2].
2. Vibration caused by the deformed contact surfaces of the Fixing and Pressure Rollers that are resulted from a long
period of unused time of the machine; if the Rollers have the deformed contact surfaces, replace them with new ones
simultaneously.
