Explains the functions, nature and process of communication


 explain the nature and process of communication;
 understand the relationship of the functions of communication
to everyday life; and
 illustrate the process of communication.

WEEK 2 1ST QUARTER  differentiate the various models of communication;


Differentiates the various models of communication  explain the process of communication through the elements
involved; and
 recognize the importance of the models in understanding the
communication process as applied in everyday life.
WEEK 3 1ST QUARTER
Uses various strategies in order to avoid communication  define the concept of communication breakdown;
breakdown  identify the different kinds of barriers to effective
communication;
 explain the causes of communication breakdown; and use
appropriate strategies to avoid communication breakdown and
achieve the goals of relationship and community building.

 identify the various types of speech context in different
situations; and
 employ appropriate verbal and non-verbal behavior in
different speech context.

WEEK 6 1ST QUARTER


Distinguishes types of speeches and speech style  distinguish the types of speeches according to purpose and
delivery;
 determine the types of speeches used in different real-life
situations;
 distinguish the types of speech style;
 identify the social situations in which each speech style is
appropriate to use; and
 observe the appropriate language forms in using a particular
speech style.

Responds appropriately and effectively to a speech act
 describe speech act;
 distinguish types and classification of speech act;
 determine the appropriate response in different social setting;
and
