A highly practical education
Students work on live projects with real

accomplished projects, our graduates really show
what they can do.

Quality teaching
With one of the lowest student-instructor
ratios in Prague, an average of 15-20 students
in business classes and generally 12 students in
computing and design, they get the time to talk
with and learn from their professors. Our faculty
members have plenty to say and offer, having a
British accredited and monitored
good balance of high academic qualifications and
real world, real life experience. Our approval to run higher education
programmes is from Edexcel, a British educational
authority with international recognition, and
from Teesside University, which won the UK
University of the Year 2009/10 and Best
Employer Engagement Initiative award organized
by Times Higher Education magazine.

Great careers
Students often find employment through
contacts made with companies at Prague
College, and quite often they find career-
path employment already in their second year
of studies. Among the companies that have
employed Prague College students and graduates,
you will find Tesco, Siemens, DHL IT Services,
Monster Worldwide, Ogilvy and more.

Student Services
Academic, professional and personal support can
help you succeed.

Prague College has a dedicated staff of study advisers to make

study conditions for students as stress free as possible. Be it
questions about academics, advice on what to do and see in the
Czech Republic, the study advisers are there to listen and assist.
Every semester there is an opportunity to consult formally with
your personal adviser to discuss academic progress and receive
guidance on future academic paths to follow; or a student can
simply drop by the students services office for an informal chat.
The student services office can provide a whole range of
information for students, whether it be academic support, or
simply the telephone number of a dentist who speaks English,
Russian or any other language.

14
Internship
Opportunities
One of the essentials of a student being
prepared for life outside of university is
to understand and have experience of
employment and the utilization of skills
learned in the classroom.
Prague College emphasizes the need for real work
experience and offers all students the possibility
of gaining it through internships with leading
companies in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Through working with the college’s professional
partners, students gain invaluable insight into the
realities of the working environment as well as the
opportunity to make professional contacts to gain
advantage in beginning their professional lives.

of the overall college community.
The main research areas of interest being
followed at the Research Centre are:

Tomas (Czech Republic)
HND Interactive Media graduate

I run SYPE studio which was set up by me and my friend Jakub

from Prague College. We have been mainly working on our own
projects at the beginning but it was more than clear that we
want to build a professional studio with a modern approach that
would be combining the best of both analog and digital worlds.
Sound production has always been my hobby and Jakub is a
composer and a sound engineer. So it was a perfect match!
What I liked about Prague College is that in the HND Interactive
Media program I had the opportunity to get the insight into
sound production, web design and so on; I gained a broad insight
into these fields. I like also the fact that you need to think actively
and reflect new current trends into your work because there
have been huge ongoing developments in the interactive media
area. The other things I liked about Prague College were the
two-way communication, sharing experiences and respect to
student’s opinions.

two friends and I started. We form a nice triangle of different skills. One is
talented in beautiful illustrations, the other in ideas generation and a great
eye for composition and the third (me) for animation and moving graphics.
We’re a strong trio. Personally, I am most interested in learning the tricks of
After Effects, so that in the future I will be able to create powerful motion
graphics for TV and film.
I am a self-taught individual in different graphics software, and I was looking
for a school where I could round off my knowledge as well as improve my
skills in these areas under the supervision of a professional. Prague College
offers all of that and at the same time has a very friendly environment for
studying. The teachers are professionals in their fields, they love what they do
and they are devoted to their students (I mean really devoted, even staying
up with you until 5 in the morning to prepare an exhibition!). They treat us as
equals in the field, which was for me the best experience.

Dmytro
BA Graphic Design student

I’m currently studying BA Graphic Design,

and at the same time working as a freelance
graphic designer. I feel like college helped me
to discover my own creativity. It helped me
to connect many small pieces of knowledge I
had before. I had some experience, but I was
self-taught, and I felt lack of some knowledge.
I think that combination of work and studies is
the key. Prague College is very flexible in that
and Prague in general is really good place to
start whatever you want. Probably that’s why
so many people of various nationalities and
ages come here.

Natalya
BA Graphic Design student

I am now finishing my bachelors degree BA

(Hons) Graphic Design at Prague College. In
the same time I’m working as a Art Director
for magazine One. I really enjoyed during
the HND studies the fact that while we were
studying we had the great chance to take
part in existing, real projects with real clients,
which was an unforgettable opportunity. I am
very proud and honored by the quality of the
great professors that led us. They not only
passed their knowledge to us, but they were
interested in listening to our own opinions on
the topic. We would discuss and analyse our
projects together, which was crucial to our
development.

Exhibitions
An important part of the study in all programmes
at the faculty School of Art & Design are final
exhibitions. In the last semester of the Higher
National Diploma programmes the first big
exhibition takes place.
For those who will continue in their BA (Hons)
degree studies, they will have another major
exhibition, the BA Final Show. In addition, students
of the Access to Art & Design programme have
their own exhibition at Prague College campus or
studios. Students participate in the organisation
with the help of lecturers and Prague College
financial support. These exhibitions celebrate
the students’ success and creativity. All of the
exhibitions are open to family and friends as well
as the general public. Students who are potentially
interested in the programmes and college are
more than welcome to come and see what the
School of Art and Design can provide them.

Rajmond (Kosovo)
HND Computing student
I always liked computing, especially programming, and Prague
College has helped me a lot in my development of them. The
teaching is done very closely with the student, and the relations,
starting from the school staff and teachers, continuing with the
students, are great. Prague College has given me the opportunity
to work also on the Underground City XXI Project, together with
students from other faculties of Prague College. I’m working on
the programming part of the project, mainly constructing the
multiuser platform, with the use of game engines. As it seems,
I would like to grow in this field and extend my career as a
programmer in the future. Prague College and the School of IT
& Computing has had a big influence in that, and my future has
better shape now.

I’m specifically interested in Prague College’s ITM
specialization because I’ve been working in this field for several
years and I wanted to gain a deeper theoretical knowledge in IT

for a long time for universities where the IT subjects are taught
in English and luckily I’ve found Prague College.
The HND in Computing at Prague College, with its international
focus, is the best way for me to realize my goals, providing
me with a springboard for my future career along with the
knowledge, confidence, and contacts to realize my dreams.I have
great teachers and, in addition, the friendly staff and students
