This report shows the Material Requirement Planning and Capacity Requirement Planning for
production of “Empanadas”. To start, the first step was compute the MRP for the final product and
its ingredients. For this, the Bill of materials matrix was made, and it was considered the lead times
for each item. With the Wagner Within Algorithm and the lead times, the order dispatching period
was determined as well as the total cost.
In the following table there is the summary of the MRP for the products that needed the
transformation in the machines, that was made looking for the minimum cost, as it is shown in the
table 2.
Table 1. MRP
On the other hand, in the production, there were three machines (portioner, oven and baler).
Taking into account a time constraint for each period of 8 hours, the set up and labor time of each
machine, and the transport time between machines the CRP was applied.
In the table 3, it is observed the time in minutes that is used in each machine per period and
noticing that none of them overtake the time limit.
Additionally, some products had a lead time that set the rhythm of production, this means that it
is mandatory to count with the time availability, and they have to be produced days before of the
final assembling process.
Table 3. CRP
