ASSIGNMENT_2
LEARNING ACTIVITIES
I. Identify one section or article in Rizal law and discuss its application to the
modern day (in not more than 100 words).

The first section of the law concerns mandating the students to read Rizal’s
novels and the last two sections involve making Rizal’s writings accessible to the
general public as they require the schools-public, private, colleges, and universities,
to have a sufficient number of copies in their libraries and mandate the publication
of the works in major Philippine languages (Tagalog, English, and Other Dialects).
As we live in the modern days, everything is accessible through internet. We can
search and look for an answer if we have questions. Children now a days are more
interested watching dramas and other western movies rather to read books or
study modules because there is online. It is very uncommon for us today to read
books specially history and other literature related books, but because of the
RIZAL LAW or The Republic Act No. 1425, The full name of the law is “An Act to
Include in the Curricula of All Public and Private Schools, Colleges and Universities
Courses on the Life, Works and Writings of Jose Rizal, Particularly His Novels Noli
Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Authorizing the Printing and Distribution
Thereof, and for Other Purposes. “-we are likely liking reading it while learning
about the past, appreciating the works and sacrifices of Dr. Jose Rizal and other
Heroes mentioned on his books. We have our freedom and a democratic nation
because of Dr. Jose Rizal. Today is the perfect time to celebrate, reminisce, and
appreciate the past.

II. Identify the importance of each article to you as a youth (not more than five
sentences)

Section Importance to you as a youth

1.Section 1 The major importance of this section for

me as a youth is that I can access and
learn or widen my knowledge about our
National Hero. I can study free about
the writings, works and the life of Dr.
Jose Rizal. When I went to Korea last
year, we visit one university where all
foreign students are attending. There is
one course where they are required to
take the subject about the writings,
works and life of Dr. Jose Rizal. They
are paying for it. Compared here in the
Philippines, we can study the writings,
works and life of Dr. Jose Rizal full free,
and it’s because of the Rizal Law that
mandate the school to include it in the
curricula particularly stated here in
Section 1.
2. Section 3 Section 3 aims to translate the Noli
Metangere, El Filibusterismo, and other
works of Dr. Jose Rizal into English,
Tagalog and other Dialects of the
Philippines. It’s a good decision and a
big adjustment for all. The works of Dr.
Jose Rizal are all originally written in
Spanish. It is good that the Board of
National Education mandated it to
translate all works of our National Hero
into such languages for us all
understand and everyone has an
access to it.

3. Section 4 This section simply stated that no one

shall translate or interpret or do any
changes of the law that is against the
said law and prohibits the discussion of
religious doctrines by public school
teachers and other person engaged in
any public school.

QUIZ: Using Google Doc (https://www.funtrivia.com/playquiz/quiz11096148648.html)

Points to Ponder: REFLECTION
1. What have you learned from the module?
a. The academic subject on Jose Rizal's life, works, and writings was not
mandated by law for nothing. Far from being impractical, the course
offers interestingly many benefits-that some contemporary scholars
declare the subject-more beneficial than many subjects in different
curricula, especially when taught properly. I have learned that our view
or knowledge of the history influences the way we perceive the present,
and it has something to do with the solutions that we might provide for
existing problems that we face today. Jose Rizal 's course is full of
historical information from which one might base one's decisions in life.

2. What part of the topic captured your attention?

a. The Section 2 of the Rizal Law captured my attention. I have always
thought what was the reason why our school has so many books about
Dr. Jose Rizal and other literature. I learned that it is because the Board
of National Education mandated the schools and universities-public or
private to have their own copies of El Fili, Noli, and other works of Rizal
on their libraries so that all students can have an access to it and might
be use scholarly.

3. How will you apply the topic in your daily life?

a. The RIZAL LAW or the works of Dr. Jose Rizal would help not only me,
but all of us to know ourselves more as a Filipino of this nation. Dr. Jose
Rizal as our National Hero played very big part of what we are now and
where we are now. If we look on the very bright side of his works, we will
realize that it is good to live freely because there’s someone helped us
to become a Filipino. And by that, we can be good to others and be an
example for the children.
