Reports to Director of Engineering Location Hotel

Key Responsibilities.

Scope and General Purpose of Job:


 To assist the Director of Engineering in the effective implementation of all Engineering Policies & Procedures. Through hands
on management supervise an effective and efficient day to day Repair, Maintenance and Technical Service operation, supplying
services as required to maintain equipment, building and grounds in optimum condition.
Main Duties:
Administrative
 To co-ordinate an effective and efficient operations through establishing a flexible work force throughout the division, based on
the principles of multi skilling and multi-tasking.
 To maintain complete and supported records of Repairs, Maintenance and Energy Management for The hotel as per Fusion
Policies & Procedures.
 To submit monthly reporting package on a timely basis.
 To assist the Director of Engineering with the preparation of the Annual POMEC budget in close co-operation with the Director
of Finance and General Manager.
 In absence of the Director of Engineering, review and approve all invoices and Purchase Requests involving Technical Services.
 To control and monitor closely all utility consumption, and to ensure optimum energy usage by all departments in the hotel. To
chair the Hotel Energy Committee.
 To observe energy efficiency of all equipment, forwarding to management suggestions for replacement of energy inefficient
equipment and to report to management all wastage of energy.
Operational
 To ensure that each section of the Engineering Division is managed efficiently, maximizing productivity and quality of work.
 To implement Maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with the local government regulations.
 To be demanding and critical when it comes to departmental standards.
 To ensure that the physical inventories of all supplies and operating equipment are being taken on a monthly and a quarterly basis
respectively.
 To ensure the efficient and economic operation of the POMEC Department in support of all other operating Departments,
supplying services as required to the entire pertain and maintaining equipment, building and grounds in optimum condition.
 Through Hands on management, supervise closely all engineering personnel in the performance of their duties.
 To implement the established Preventive Maintenance Program for all equipment in the hotel, including kitchen and laundry.
 To co-ordinate and, if so requested, supervise special projects and employment of outside contractors.
 To ensure that the Engineering Store is well organized and keep close control on consumption of material, stores and inventory
control.
 To implement a comprehensive elevator emergency procedure.

 To inspect, with the Director of Engineering, at least twice monthly, the entire building with particular attention on defective or
deficient life safety features and to observe closely the condition of all operating equipment. Specific attention must be placed on
areas of difficult access.
 To perform, at least twice weekly, routine inspection of all engineering operational areas (plant rooms) and report any equipment
malfunction to the Director of Engineering.
 To ensure all safety regulations are being strictly observed.
 To monitor implementation of all energy conservation procedures and report any irregularities and non-compliance to the
Director of Engineering.
 To prepare monthly utility consumption reports and keep constant survey of correct calibration of all utility recording
instruments.
 To check timely completion of maintenance requests paying particular attention to guest related jobs.
 To implement and supervise the Guestroom-servicing program in accordance with company standards.
 To supervise maintenance of gardens and grounds, including road surfaces.
 To ensure a perfect functional condition of all alarm systems and fire prevention as well as fire-fighting equipment.
 To implement the established system for the control, verification, storage and utilization of all fuel deliveries to the premises.
 In absence of the Director of Engineering, represent the Engineering Division on the hotel's Executive Committee.
 To handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to
supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
