BSN 202 MR. ARJUNE LUMAYNO

1. What have I LEARNED this day that has helped me

do all aspects of this better?
-I’ve learned that the role that science and technology has played in
improving the life conditions across the globe is vivid, but the benefit has
to been harvested maximum by all countries. Science and technology has
made life a lot easier and also a lot better with the advancement of
medicines and analysis on diseases. Apart from the medical side, there
has been remarkable development in education, communication,
agriculture, industry etc. the global economic output has increased 17
folds in the 20th century. In spite of the advancements in almost all
sectors, still the world is not free from hunger, disease, pollution,
illiteracy and poverty. The gap between the rich and the poor has
widened. By the 21st century, with the right applications of research,
development, and implications of science and technology a major
difference could be brought about.Without proper implementation of
science and technology, no nation could grow and all those nations that
were labelled as low in growth have proved where they stand today and
all that has happened only because of science and technology. We as
citizens of the nation and who hold equal responsibility for the growth
should equip our youth with all possible facilities for their research thirst
and support and motivate them, as the future of our nation is in their
hands and they could get our nation to more advanced levels than what it
is today. In my own suggestion, the Philippines should focus on research
such as (1.)health research in the country. They also voice the need we
have to improve and do more. To build a nation of healthy and world-
class Filipinos by nurturing our resources to generate new knowledge and
innovations on products and services that will improve health care
delivery. The Mission calls for us to: provide and strengthen the scientific
and technological base for health care delivery. To my mind, this captures
the essence of what research in the Philippines should be: dynamic,
realistic, responsive and relevant. To upgrade laboratories and promotes
research that helps for future purposes especially these days that we have
a pandemic that government must invest and focus on health research and
they should prioritize it. (2.)Biotechnology (conventional biotechnology
involving tissue culture, fermentation technology and enzyme
technology; recombinant DNA on technology/proteomics including
mutation breeding and marker-assisted breeding, waste management,
drugs, vaccines, and diagnostickits);nanotechnology(nanosensors and
actuators; nanomaterials and nanocomposites; nanoporous filters); and
electronics (semiconductors and components). (3.)Agriculture and food
(development of food and non-food crop varieties for high yield, quality,
nutritional value, and adaptability to unfavorable environments and
resistance to pests); environment and natural resources (forest production,
utilization and protection); disaster mitigation and management (disaster-
resilient system and infrastructures)

2. What have I DONE this week that has made me better

at doing all aspects of this?
-What I did was answering the assigned activities that was given by Mr.
Lumayno about Science and technology and we also presented by group
our presentations about the the different eras or the histories in the past
years from the time of rock up to the 21’st century. Mr. Lumayno also
discussed the topics were I was also listened . I chatted my group mates
about our presentation and we shared ideas on how are we going to
present an output to the class via online. It was at first hard because of the
situations like poor wifi connection but as we go along, we somehow
learned to adjust and I’m thankful for our teacher because he also
understood and never make us pressure and that’s what I really liked
about this class also. Despite challenges we faced today, we learn to
thrive hard and have the determination to go on, we look for the beauty
where we can still foster education and look for the brighter side of it
instead of being negative.

3. How can I IMPROVE at doing all aspects of this?

-There is no other solution but to study and have the determination to

move on because if you have these qualities in life you can really meet
success and we all know that success happened when you are determined
and studied for it, when you have the passion and the hard work then the
impossible things will become possible only if you believe in your self
and never give up in life.

SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS HAVE THESE KIND OF QUALITIES:

1. Accept Responsibility. You see yourself as primarily

responsible for your outcomes and experiences.
2. Are Self-Motivated. You find purpose in what you do by
discovering personally meaningful goals and dreams.
3. Master Self-Management. You plan and take action in
pursuit of your goals and dreams.
4. Are Interdependent. You build mutually supportive
relationships that help you achieve your goals and dreams
(while helping others do the same).
5. Have Self-Awareness. You consciously think, believe,
and behave in ways that keep you on course.
6. Believe in Life-Long Learning. You look for lessons in
all of your experiences.
7. Have High EQ's (Emotional Intelligence). You accept
your emotions, but you manage them in support of your goals
and dreams.
8. Believe in Yourself. You see yourself as a capable,
lovable, and unconditionally worthy human being.
