Personal Information Collection Statement
1. THE ORDINANCE
The personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the “Ordinance”) came into effect in Hong Kong on 20th December 1996.
2. PERSONAL INFORMATION
Applications for membership and subscribership require the provision and completion by all applicants of personal details so that applications can be
processed for approval and that personal data can be maintained in the records of the Hong Kong Cricket Association (the “HKCA”).
3. REASONS AND PURPOSES FOR COLLECTING AND RECORDING PRIVATE DATA
The personal data of members, applicants for membership and subscribership may be used, held and/or stored (by any means which the HKCA deems
appropriate) for all or any of the following reasons.
Registration of applications
Maintaining and updating the records of membership and subscribership
Verification of identity and signature of members, subscribers and applicants
Communications with members, subscribers and applicants including distribution of information, circulars and other correspondence
Forwarding of accounts due for settlement
Compilation of statistical information and profiles of membership
Disclosure of information which may be required by law
Other incidental purposes further to the above
4. TRANSFER OF DATA
Data held by the HKCA in respect of members, subscribers and applicants will be kept confidential but the HKCA may, in furtherance of the above, make
such enquiries which are considered necessary to confirm the accuracy of personal data and , in particular, may disclose, obtain, transfer (whether within or
outside Hong Kong) such personal data to, from or with any or all of the following persons and entities.
The President, Chairman and Executive Committee members of the HKCA
The General Manager and authorized senior personnel of the HKCA
Any regulatory or governmental authorities or bodies
5. ACCESS AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
In accordance with Section 18 of the Ordinance, members, subscribers and applicants have the right to ascertain whether the HKCA holds their personal data,
to obtain a copy of that data and to correct any data that is inaccurate.
In accordance with Section 28 of the Ordinance, the HKCA has the right to charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any data access request. Requests for
access to data should be addressed to the membership secretary of the HKCA.
