Assignment-2

Critical Analysis for CoachBuddy

Name: Jaanaavi Wasade

1.Target audience: Students reaching out for career guidance. (Class 8, Class 9, Class 10,
Class 11, Class 12,Engineering). The picture shows a kid and has no relevance with the target
audience. A person who is new to the platform might assume that this website provides
mentoring for young kids as well. The associated picture can be changed to give a rather
formal feel to the user.

Suggestion:The associated picture can be changed to build a guiding or formal feel like the
one shown below. Pictures like these can be used to potray the sense of consideration and
effort that will be taken for the child’s future. It delivers a message that any investment made
by the user in terms of time or money will be taken seriously by the company and the user
won’t be disappointed.
2.Grammatical error:
3. Colour and context:

I think this instruction brief is grammatically incorrect. Being the first UI after applying for
the test, it plays a vital role in building the temperament of the user. Better colour codes can
be adopted.

4. Technical issue:

I can’t comment about the result as I faced some sort of technical error.

The number of questions to be answered were :70

I had attempted: 39

The Next button was diasbled and I couldn’t answer the subsequent questions. All other
options such as Exit Section, Tools ,etc. were also disabled forcing me to quit the application.
I faced the similar error in all my 3 attempts.

5. Progression bar display issue:

Due to some issue I couldn’t see all the questions to be answered and the question on the
same screen at the same time. Each time I wished to see my current question number, I had to
scroll down to see the question number bar. It becomes difficult to solve 70 questions without
seeing the simultaneous progression in the question numbers.
6. Reduce the number of clicks:

Though Sign in provides a single option as “ Sign in as a beta user” it has a drop down menu
bar. This increases the user effort and converts a single click process to multi click. There
exists no other option other than signing in as a beta user, leads to questioning the existence
of a drop down.
7. Instant feedback:

Highlighting the text upon hovering on the corresponding option of the menu bar can give
instant feedback to the user. Thus allowing the user to believe that he is on the right path.

8. No movement or navigation:

Clicking on the “Career option” does not navigate the user to a new age. If the is no response
the option seems of no use. In turn, increasing options just increase the time required by the
user to select an option (according to Hick’s Law).
