the highest score of 75 and the lowest score of 40 and the average score
obtained 55 consisting of 20 students. Number of complete student that

concluded that the ability of students of class VIII MTs. Alkhairaat

conclusion The problem in this research is that students have not been able to write
a formal letter well, based on preliminary study conducted in class VIII
MTs. Alkhairaat Sibalaya, from 20 the number of students who carry out
the study write an official letter, only three people who get the highest
score 75-73 and 17 people who get low grades 65-40. With a percentage
of classical completeness of 15%, and an average score of 55. The value
is not in accordance with the minimum completeness criteria set at
school that is 70.
Learning to write an official letter in the second cycle of writing phase
goes well and smoothly in accordance with the expected learning
objectives. Success in the writing phase can be attributed to (1) the
teacher gives a detailed explanation of how to frame the letter and write
a blur of letters, (2) the students do good cooperation during the
preparation of the letter framework, (3) the teacher gives the opportunity
to ask questions and brainstorm if students experience obstacles in
writing activities, and (4) students do the writing of opaque mail based
on letter frames made according to the format selected.

then the suggestions can be given as follows.
suggestion 1. For the students studied, the results of this study help and direct
students who have difficulty in writing official letters. Students will be
guided and directed at every stage of formal letter writing activities, so
that their ability to write official letters can increase.
2. For teachers, the results of this study may provide additional
knowledge and experience of how to improve the ability to write official
letters, and guided strategies are alternative variations of teaching and
learning activities in learning improve students' ability to write official
letters.
3. For schools, As information materials in an effort to improve the
quality of education in MTs. Alkhairaat Sibalaya in particular the quality
of the Indonesian language study subjects.
4. For researchers, the results of this study can enrich the knowledge,
experience, insight, and capabilities that exist within the researchers.
