There was a case of uncoupling between locomotive and SLR (hybrid coach). ‘On investigation, it was found that the train parting happened because of vertical slippage between AAR'E’ type locomotive coupler and AAR'H’ type tight lock coupler in SLR. The knuckle of SLR coupler slipped from the top hence, vertical restrictor could not prevent the slippage. RDSO have issued a modified restrictor drawing no. CG-10063 vide letter of even dated 31.07.2010. The modified restrictor prevents couplers from vertical slippage from the top as well as the bottom. It is advised to use the vertical restrictor as per the modified drawing which is enclosed. Encl.: RDSO drawing no.
