Midterm Examination

FS 6
(Field Study 6)

MAELA POLLEN E. YEMA

UNIT EARNER

1. Actual classroom teaching a day is six hours, what can be the reasons behind this limit
on teaching hours?

Reasons why teaching should not exceed six hours: Children will be mentally and
physically tired. There is only so much a child can remember and understand within a
day. The attention span of the students couldn't take much time like exceeding six hours
of teaching and learning.

2. Would you consider teaching as a full-time job? Why? Why not?

Teacher never stops learning when teaching. Of course, teaching is a full-time job.
Teachers spent 12 hours in school giving lecture to students and sometimes teachers
are working at their houses making paper works even at holidays. Teaching is not only
the issue, teaching is a life-long learning career, which means a teacher cannot just
teach and teach, she needs to learn and train to improve herself in order to produce a
globally competitive learner. Teaching is a matter of passion and dedication.

3. Are the conditions in the classroom conducive to the welfare of both the learner and
teacher based on your classroom observation? How will you improve on it?

The classroom is conducive to both parties in the teaching learning process. There
designed for the betterment of the learners. The classroom is bright, organized and well
ventilated. However, the room lacks one of the most important facility that the learners
really need, I think they should add a comfort room that will benefit both the learners
and teacher.

4. Based on your observation of the teacher in the classroom setting, are you motivated
to continue on becoming a teacher? What in the teacher’s practices inspire you to
become a professional teacher?

After observing the teacher in the classroom setting, I can say that teaching is really an
interesting profession and I was become more motivated to pursue my degree. Seeing
the students enjoyed participating in which you can see on their faces that they were
eager to learn is what inspires me to become a professional teacher. A teacher that
really know every detail of what he/she is going to teach and how she handles and
manage her time well for almost 8hrs a day and 5 days a week is also very inspirable for
us the future teachers.

5. What are the available resources in your barangay/ community that can be used by the
teachers?

6. How is the teacher being looked upon the community?

In personal view/ it helps teachers to know what their wrongs they did, In this way/
the teacher may change her attitude to be highly accepted by the community, In the teacher=s status/
view of the people in the community help teacher=s status improvemaybe with the
help of giving good feedbacks to the teacher, Dy means of this any institution may
accept his+her application for his+her good performance, And also somebarangay gives
remark such as certi fi cate to the teachers whom help them in their  activity and this
will serve as a credit to them to keep going towards the high position,'or e"ample last summer I
(oin the immersion given by the *ve -ates Salon/ we do freehaircuts for men and women, <y former
teacher in Science also participated in the sameactivity, In every barangay that we engage/ ?e always
asked for the certificate in theDarangay Captain, And there he told me the importance of being active in the
communityas a teacher, One thing I think of is that maybe in the sense of teacher=s status in
thecommunity, If the teacher always (oin and supports community activities of course thepeople
will admire his+ her kindness

7. How does a teacher become agents of change?

Both persons and materials and/or innovations, for example Information and
Communication Technology, can be referred to as 'agents of change'. Teachers who are
actively involved in a joint achievement of something new, may be mentioned as 'agents
of change' when they accomplish a desired effect (or change) at school.

8. In what way that the school, teachers and learners participate in barangay activities?

9. What learning do your students gain from the participation?

They learn a lot, they learn how to cooperate with the barangay, that we must love and
maintain the cleanliness of our barangay to avoid sickness. They also build a strong
foundation with their barangays through socializing with the people residing in the
community during clean and green operation.

10. What realization that relate to your becoming a teacher, have you gained from your
experience and observations in the community?

I realized that teacher carries a big responsibility not only to the school and her students
but also to the community. They carry both the task and responsibility in creating the
school and the community a better place for the students. It is really a great thing for a
teacher to connect to the community, so that she will have an influenced to the parents
as well as the barangay officials. The people in the community does have a big
expectation and have a high respect to teachers especially in our barrio. They treat
teachers well and sees them as perfect individual. For this reason, I think there is no
room for a teacher in our barrio to make mistakes. However, I am an optimistic person,
mistakes can be good when you learn your lesson from it and it will lead you to be
better
