Convert each of the following.

1) 1 m = ___________ cm 2) 300 cm = ____________ m

3) 12 m = ____________ cm 4) 700 cm = _________ m

5) 245 cm = _______ m ________ cm 6) 340 cm = _______ m ______ cm

7) 180 cm = ________ m _______ cm 8) 8 m 57 cm = ______ cm

9) 1 m 9 cm = __________ cm 10) 8 m 30 cm = ________ cm

Answer for worksheet

Convert each of the following.

1) 1 m = ___________ cm 2) 300 cm = ____________ m

1 x 100 cm = 100 cm 300 ÷ 100 = 3 m

3) 12 m = ____________ cm 4) 700 cm = _________ m

12 x 100 cm = 1200 cm (700 ÷ 100)m = 7 m

5) 245 cm = _______ m ________ cm 6) 340 cm = _______ m ______ cm

200 cm + 45 cm = (200 ÷ 100)m + 45cm 300 cm + 40 cm = (300 ÷ 100)m + 40cm

= 2 m 45 cm = 3 m 40 cm

7) 180 cm = ________ m _______ cm 8) 8 m 57 cm = ______ cm

100 cm + 80 cm = (100 ÷ 100)m + 80cm (8 x 100) cm + 57 cm = 857 cm

= 1 m 80 cm

9) 1 m 9 cm = __________ cm 10) 8 m 30 cm = ________ cm

(1 x 100) cm + 9 cm = 100 cm + 9 cm (8 x 100) cm + 3 cm = 800 cm + 30 cm

= 109 cm = 830 cm

Reflection
The strength of the lesson today is I included songs and Plickers in teaching
the topics. The pupils are excited and give cooperation during these activities.

However, today’s lesson did not achieve the objective because I mixed the
sequence of the exercise in the worksheet given. Hence, the pupils keep asking the
same question such as convert centimetres to metres. To overcome this problem, I
should give the exercise with a sequence, such that the pattern of the question is the
same in one section. For example, in section A of the worksheet, the questions will
be converting the unit from metres to centimetres. Furthermore, I should include the
relationship between units in the worksheet as a reference for students while doing
the worksheet given.

Besides, I also found that one student added the measurement with different
unit when doing the worksheet. For example, in the question 6 (refer to worksheet),
the student added 3 m with 40 cm ( 3 m + 40 cm = 43). To overcome this problem, I
should emphasize that the different unit cannot be added. The addition can only be
operated when the unit are the same.

In addition, I took times to do introduction with them such as naming group

and also, took time in setting up the projector. Therefore, I should enter the class
early as the class is after recess to save time in setting up the computer.

Overall, the learning objectives for today’s lesson did not achieved due to the
problem that has mention above. Therefore, the lesson will be rerun on Wednesday.
